UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – November 6, 2008 – NBC's late-night stars have scored convincing wins for the week of October 27-31, with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" delivering its biggest margin of victory of the season over CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in adult 18-49 viewers and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" achieving its biggest margin of the season over CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Jay won the 11:35 p.m. ET hour by a 26 percent margin over Letterman in 18-49 viewers while Conan dominated over Ferguson by 49 percent. 

Both Jay and Conan stretched their leads among younger adults, with Jay topping Letterman for the week by a 44 percent advantage among adults 18-34 and Conan generating an 87 percent margin over Ferguson. Conan also out-delivered Letterman in 18-34 (517,000 viewers vs. 488,000) despite Conan's later start time. 

Conan generated his biggest adult 18-49 audience (1.052 million) in nearly six months, since the week of May 5-9. "Tonight," "Late Night" and "Last Call with Carson Daly" all delivered season-highs in total viewers. "Last Call's" 1.211 million viewers is its highest mark since the week of December 31, 2007-January 4, 2008. 

"Last Call" tied Ferguson in 18-49 rating for the week and out-rated both Ferguson and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in the valuable adult 18-34 demographic (with a 0.5 rating vs. a 0.4 each for Ferguson and Kimmel). "Last Call" also pulled within a tenth of a rating point of ABC's "Nightline" (0.6) in adults 18-34. 

Versus the same week last year, Jay and Conan delivered bigger margins of victory over the CBS competition. Jay's 26 percent win in 18-49 is up from 24 percent last year and Conan's 49 percent win last week is up from 34 percent the same week last year. In adults 18-34, Jay's 44 percent advantage last week is up from last year's 34 percent and Conan's 87 percent is up from 79 percent. 

For the week of October 27-31, Jay's average 1.709 million adults 18-49 topped the 1.354 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 4.890 million persons beat Letterman's 3.923 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 701,000 out-delivered Letterman's 488,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Conan's 1.052 million adults 18-49 for the week out-delivered Ferguson's 706,000; in total viewers, Conan's 2.039 million beat Ferguson's 1.787 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 517,000 topped Ferguson's 277,000.
