SEASON TO DATE, 'SNL' IS RUNNING 83 PERCENT AHEAD OF LAST YEAR IN 18-49 AND 92 PERCENT AHEAD IN TOTAL VIEWERSUNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – November 13, 2008 – The November 8 edition of "Saturday Night Live" has generated the show's highest adult 18-49 rating for an encore telecast since January 2007, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.
The November 8 rebroadcast, hosted by James Franco and featuring musical guest Kings of Leon, averaged a 2.8 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall. It's the highest adult 18-49 rating for a "Saturday Night Live" rebroadcast since January 6, 2007 (with host Alec Baldwin and musical guest Christina Aguilera). In total viewers, the November 8 encore generated "SNL's" second-biggest overall audience for a rebroadcast since that January 6, 2007 telecast, trailing over that span only the encore of October 11, 2008 (Michael Phelps/Lil Wayne).
Versus an encore on the same night last year (1.8/8 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall on November 10, 2007), last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" was up 56 percent in 18-49 and 46 percent in total viewers.
Season to date, "Saturday Night Live" would rank #17 in adults 18-49 among all primetime series, its highest rank at this point in the season in People Meter history.
Season to date, "Saturday Night Live" is up 83 percent versus last year in 18-49 (4.2/16 vs. 2.3/9, "most current") and up 92 percent in total viewers (10.1 million vs. 5.3 million). This is the top-rated opening nine weeks of an "SNL" season since 2000 in 18-49 and the biggest opening nine weeks of an "SNL" season in total viewers since 1994.
