NBC BROADCAST NUMBER ONE IN TOTAL VIEWERS, HOMES AND A25-54
NEW YORK – November 18, 2008 – According to Nielsen Media Research data, "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" was the most-watched network evening newscast, winning the week of November 10-16. During the week, the Williams-led newscast averaged 9.295 million total viewers. "Nightly" led the week by an impressive +394K more than ABC "World News'" 8.901 million, and +2.635 million more than CBS "Evening News'" 6.660 million, its best total viewer advantage since the week of September 1, 2008. Season-to-date, "Nightly" leads ABC by +168K in total viewers, and by +65K in A25-54.
Among A25-54 (000), "Nightly" beat ABC by +149K viewers. Nightly had its largest advantage over ABC in A25-54 since the week of September 1, 2008. Versus the same week last season, Nightly increased inM/A25-54 (+10%/+4%).
In homes, "Nightly News" also placed first with a 6.1 rating and a 12 share. In second place ABC drew a 6.0/11, and CBS posted a 4.4/8.
On its digital platforms, "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" continued its strong performance with more than 4.3 million online streams for the week ending November 15, 2008.
