“Nightline” CONTINUES TO CUT TOTAL VIEWING AND A25-54 GAPS
WITH “LENO”—CLOSES A25-54 GAP BY 34% YEAR TO DATE
“Nightline” CONTINUES TO OUTPERFORM “LETTERMAN”
IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54
ABC News’ “Nightline” continues to experience growth season and quarter to date, according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of December 1, 2008. In Total Viewers, "Nightline" posted 3.95 million, a growth of 9% season and quarter to date. The program is also up in Total Viewers compared to the same week last year.
Among Adults 25-54, "Nightline" posted 1.84 million, increasing 2% season and quarter to date, while NBC’s “Leno” declined 3%.
Continuing its growth, “Nightline” once more closed the gaps with NBC’s “Leno” among Adults 25-54 year to date (34%) and season to date (31%).
“Nightline” also outperformed CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the second week in a row. Additionally, “Nightline” beat “Letterman” among Adults 18-49. Note: “Letterman” aired repeats last week.
ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
