BCS Championship averages 26.76 million

Last night’s BCS Championship averaged 26.758 million viewers between 8:20p-11:49p EST according to preliminary data from Nielsen.

While not as high as the 2007, or 2006 games, last night’s game outperformed the 2008 game based on the preliminary data according to Fox:

Oklahoma vs. Florida delivered a big 9.5 from 8:20-11:49p among Adults 18-49.  The BCS Championship out-delivered last year’s title game (LSU vs. Ohio State on 1/7/08) by +16% among Adults 18-49 (9.5 vs. 8.2), by +15% among Adults 18-34 (8.6 vs. 7.5) and by +16% among Total Viewers (26.8 vs. 23.1 Mil.).
