The midseason return of “Burn” was seen by 5.1 million viewers and drew a 1.9 adults 18-49 ratings.

“Burn” also turned up the heat on A&E’s “The Beast” (1.6 million, 0.6). The second episode of the Patrick Swayze series fell a disappointing 25% in the ratings.

Thursday’s episode narrowly missed the skein’s all-time mark in total viewers by a mere 5,000 even as it was running at 10 p.m. against original-episode broadcast competition from “Private Practice” on ABC, “The Eleventh Hour” on CBS and “ER” on NBC.
