Bob Dylan was right -- you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. And you probably didn't need these numbers to know which way the Friday night ratings blew, but here they are anyway.
CBS wins again. Flashpoint was again solid in the middle of CBS' lineup with 10.21 million viewers, but trailed both Ghost Whisperer, the night's most watched program, with 11.27 million and a 2.8 rating among 18-49 year olds and Numb3rs with 10.86 million.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I think Supernanny was a repeat too.
Supernanny was new.
I think you’re right, it was an episode from the UK so I thought it was an old episode.
Poor Friday Night Lights. I hope the ratings are getting better because i want a season 4!!
I watched Battlestar Galactica on Space at 10 last night, but I recorded Numb3rs. ;D
Robert, I think the average you posted for the CW is wrong. I did the math and here’s what I got:
CW
EHC + TG + 13: FiR
1.64 + 1.61 + 1.06 = 4.28
4.28 / 3 = 1.43 million
Jole, it doesn’t work that way. You have to first average EHC and TG together, to get that hour’s average (1.625) and then average that with the 9pm hour. So it’s 1.34.
We have a houseful of Ghost Whisperer Fans! Love that show! But Melinda needs to wake up from her nightmare of her husbands death.
To Julia: Oh! Okay, so that’s how they do it… Thanks for clearing that up.
As I have seen FNL Season 3 on DirecTV, I watched “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” to catch a glimpse of Rick Springfield. Still gorgeous after all these years, he is! He was a little self-deprecating and fun too, asking the contestant for a cut of her winnings if he helped her out a little
Versus last week, DFTL has a slight bump in the ratings. Maybe I’m not the only one who wanted to see Rick Springfield?
Howie Do It Did worse than last week, about the same as Deal Or No deal know.
That was an awesome episode of Numb3rs. Hopefully CBS is sufficiently happy with the ratings to keep it afloat for a while.
Howie Do It has worse numbers than 5th Grader? Is it safe to say that this show is toast?
Any WWE Smackdown ratings on MYTV Network?
Is this not like the constant hihgest rated season of GW? Every episode is in 10-11 million! It seems after Jims death the viewers hung around, from season 2/3′s 8 Million average to this is pretty good. CBS must be happy.
Dylan, we don’t see MyNet ratings on an overnight basis, but they are available in the weekly ratings next Tuesday.
Hey does anyone know where I can find out how a cable show did? I’d like to know how Moonlight did in it’s SciFi channel premiere last night. Just curious. Thanks!
Barb, we don’t get overnight ratings for cable shows, but we should know by Tuesday and will report them in the weekly cable numbers.
Is it safe to say that Everybody Hates Chris won’t be back for another season? I’m a fan of the show, but judging by the ratings I don’t think it will.
Poor FNL, the future doesn’t look bright.
Thanks so much for the quick reply Robert!
