FOR THE WEEK AND THE SEASON, JAY TOPS 'Late Show' AND Conan OUTSCORES 'LATE Late Show' IN ALL KEY RATINGS CATEGORIES -- ADULTS, MEN AND WOMEN 18-34, 18-49 AND 25-54, PLUS TOTAL VIEWERS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 29, 2009 - NBC's late-night stars have won the week of January 19-23 in adults 18-49 and total viewers over all cable and broadcast competition, with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" taking the 11:35 p.m. ET hour over CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" encores by a 54 percent margin in 18-49 viewers and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" beating CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" at 12:35 a.m. by 28 percent.

Season to date, Jay is delivering a 21 percent margin of victory over Letterman in adult 18-49 viewers and a 28 percent advantage in total viewers, while Conan's leads over Ferguson are 25 percent in 18-49 and 3 percent in total viewers. Both Jay and Conan pull away among younger adults, with Jay leading the season by a 41 percent margin among adult 18-34 viewers and Conan winning by 60 percent.

For the season through January 23, Jay's average 1.779 million adults 18-49 tops the 1.471 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 5.048 million persons beats Letterman's 3.940 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 724,000 is out-scoring Letterman's 512,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Conan's 991,000 adults 18-49 for the season out-delivers Ferguson's 793,000; in total viewers, Conan's 1.966 million beats Ferguson's 1.909 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 483,000 tops Ferguson's 301,000.

For the week and the season, Jay out-scores Letterman in every key ratings category: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Conan also tops Ferguson in all of those categories for the week and season as well.
