"THIS WEEK" GROWS 20% AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS

JANUARY 2008 TO JANUARY 2009

-- BEST JANUARY FOR "THIS WEEK" IN 7 YEARS

"THIS WEEK" CUTS TOTAL VIEWING GAP WITH "MEET THE PRESS"

BY 45% AND THE DEMO GAP BY 32% VS. JANUARY LAST YEAR

According to Nielsen Media Research, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" had its best January in seven years, averaging 3.64 million Total Viewers, a growth of 20% compared to January 2008.  In Adults 25-54, "This Week" held steady January to January, averaging 1.22 million for the month.  NBC's "Meet the Press" in comparison declined 1% in Total Viewers and 8% in the demo January 2008 to January 2009.

During the month of January 2009, "This Week" made significant inroads against "Meet the Press" by closing the total viewing gap between them by 45% and in the Adults 25-54 demographic by 32% versus January 2008.

For Sunday January 25, 2009, "This Week" posted 3.26 million Total Viewers and 1.18 million Adults 25-54.

George Stephanopoulos is the anchor of "This Week" and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
