FX renews ‘Rescue Me’

FX has reupped its Denis Leary firehouse drama “Rescue Me” for a sixth season.

The cable net ordered 18 additional episodes of the series, which kicks off its fifth campaign April 7 at 10 p.m.[…]

“Rescue Me,” which comes from Sony Pictures TV, DreamWorks TV and Leary’s Apostle shingle, was one of FX’s top-rated series when season four culminated in September 2007: The show averaged a cumed audience of 3.2 million adults 18-49 and 4.8 million total viewers with its four weekly runs combined.
