THE NBC LEADS INCREASE AMONG YOUNGER VIEWERS, WITH JAY BEATING 'Late Show' BY 47 PERCENT IN ADULTS 18-34 AND Conan OUTSCORING 'LATE LATE' BY 64 PERCENT

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – February 12, 2009 – NBC's late-night stars have won the week of February 2-6 in adults 18-49 and total viewers over all cable and broadcast competition, with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" increasing their margins of victory versus the same week last year over CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" respectively.

For the week, Leno topped Letterman by a 26 percent margin in adult 18-49 viewers, up from a 10 percent win one year ago, while Conan outscored Ferguson by 21 percent, up from 16 percent.

Both "Tonight" and "Late Night" stretched their leads among younger adults, with Jay topping Letterman for the week by a 47 percent advantage among adult 18-34 viewers, up from 41 percent for the same week last year, while Conan achieved a 64 percent margin over Ferguson, up from 54 percent.

For the week and the season, Jay is out-scoring Letterman in every key ratings category: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Conan is also topping Ferguson in all of those categories for the week and the season.

For the week of February 2-6, Jay's average 1.825 million adults 18-49 topped the 1.445 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 5.197 million persons beat Letterman's 3.825 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 717,000 out-scored Letterman's 489,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Conan's 958,000 adults 18-49 for the week out-delivered Ferguson's 790,000; in total viewers, Conan's 2.013 million beat Ferguson's 1.973 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 476,000 topped Ferguson's 291,000.

At 1:35 a.m. ET for the week, "Last Call with Carson Daly" tied Ferguson and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in adult 18-34 rating (0.4 each).
