2009 NBA All-Star Saturday night grabs highest ratings ever

TNT's coverage of NBA All-Star Saturday Night was the most watched telecast in the event's 24-year history, according to Nielsen's Fast Nationals, delivering 5,846,000 total viewers, up 12% over last year's telecast (5,206,000). The event also delivered double digit growth in Ratings (+11%, 3.5 US Ratings vs. 3.1 US Ratings) and Households (+13%, 3,963 vs. 3,513).

Growth in Key Demographics
Men 18-34 (+16%, 1,515 vs. 1,309)
Adults 18-34 (+20%, 2,170 vs. 1,803)
Adults 18-49 (+15%, 3,640 vs. 3,173)
Men 18-49 (+8%, 2,386 vs. 2,213)
Adults 25-54 (+8%, 3,006 vs. 2,784).

TNT's exclusive coverage (8 - 11:00 pm ET) included the crowning of new champions in all four events including the Sprite Slam Dunk (Nate Robinson, NY Knicks), FootLocker Three-Point Shootout (Daequan Cook, Miami Heat), PlayStation Skills Challenge (Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls) and Haier Shooting Stars (Team Detroit).

TNT's coverage of NBA All-Star Weekend concludes tonight with Marv Albert (play-by-play), Doug Collins (analyst) and Reggie Miller (analyst) calling the 2009 NBA All-Star Game (8 pm ET), TNT's seventh consecutive year exclusively airing the midseason showcase.
