NBA All-Star Game averages 6.9 million viewers on TNT, up 8% vs. 2008

TNT's exclusive coverage of the 2009 NBA All-Star Game Sunday night from Phoenix was watched by some 6.85 million viewers.

That average represented an 8% gain from the 2008 NBA All-Star Game, according to Nielsen Media Research fast nationals date. The contest, won easily by the West and co-MVPs Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant by a 146-119 count, scored a 4.1 U.S. national rating, up 6% from last year's event, and 4.67 million households on average, up 8%.

The 2009 contest also posted advances among key demos: ahead 10% to 2.52 million adults 18 to 34; 6% to 4.03 million adults 18 to 49; and 12% to 3.45 million adults 25 to 54.

    Did you guys see Shaq throw an entry pass between Howard’s legs to little chris paul and then cut for a dunk? that was niiiice. The numbers were ok. they’re falling but still high. Next year ratings will be off the chart when it’s played at the new Texas Stadium in Dallas.
