On the heels of its impressive record setting launch on Friday, February 13, 2009, the newly re- branded Disney😄 cable network drew record ratings over its first four-days, driven by the premiere of flagship series “Aaron Stone” and Monday’s “Phineas and Ferb” marathon, featuring an all-new episode at 4:30 p.m. – now ranking as the net’s most-watched series telecast ever in Total Viewers. With “Aaron Stone,” “Phineas and Ferb” and sneak previews of original series “Jimmy Two Shoes” and “Kid vs. Kat,” Disney😄 reached 15.7 million unduplicated Total Viewers and 6.5 million Kids 6-14 over its inaugural weekend on air.
Anchoring the network’s Friday, February 13, 2009 launch, flagship series “Aaron Stone” was impressive in its debut, surpassing all series premieres on the former Toon Disney in Kids 6-14, driven by target demo Boys 6-14. Then on Monday, an all-new “Phineas and Ferb” recorded the largest audience ever for a series telecast in Total Viewers (1.1 million), topping all previous telecasts on Toon Disney. In Boys 6-14, the new episode ranked among the Top 5 telecasts ever on Disney XD/Toon Disney. As a whole, the marathon averaged an impressive 637,000 Total Viewers and 311,000 Kids 6-14, more than doubling year-ago levels.
Disney😄 is a newly re-branded basic cable channel and multi-platform brand that showcases a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor.
