Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Hmmmm… will 48 hours go to 2hrs? Not bad numbers for cbs.
Wow What a lame night!!
ABC: ABC was able to tie in the demo with CBS for 2nd but last in viewers! America’s Funniest Home Videos repeats very well compared to other ABC shows(Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, etc.) as well as Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. Second in viewers just under Cops by a margin of 260,000 & 0.6 less in the demo. Not bad. Bewitched(nice movie by the way) wasted its lead-in and was last in every half-hour. If ABC had actually promoted it during the week! Sigh.
ABC should repeat America’s Funniest Home Videos & Extreme Makeover:Home Edition on Saturdays; there the only thing that can repeat well on ABC. Or move Wife Swap & Supernanny here. I’ve always had the idea of ABC to start up a night-time soap opera(does The Colbys or Dynasty ring a bell?) on Saturdays preferably at 10 pm. Or a new crime drama which ABC should have while CBS has too many could get one from CBS when its canceled by them. Does Shark or Close To Home ring a bell
CBS: Congrats to CBS for beating FOX in viewership!! Cold Case, like any other crime show repeated on a Saturday, did good. But the demo yikes! 48 Hours Mystery did good especially at 10 pm; that’s its deserved timeslot. Here comes another press release on 48.
I’ve heard about putting a game show on Saturdays; I think its a great idea too!! Hey what happened to Game Show In My Head? And Million Dollar Password?
FOX: As usual won the demo but not the viewership this time. Cops & America’s Most Wanted always do good in the demo; I’m surprised to not find a press release about their weekly wins on Saturdays! I have no suggestions on any change to Saturdays. I mean what will FOX air?
NBC: The usual Law & Order repeats on Saturdays. But this Saturday it gave them 4th in the demo. I don’t know if anyone release this but at 10 pm every Saturday the last repeat gets the most viewers & demo. No change here; what will they air next season here? Knight Rider! LOL! That will kill it even more!
Speaking of DVR viewing, when will we get some numbers? *coughTSCCcough*
One more point: Cops & America’s Most Wanted is really down from previous years! Remember when they use to get over 6 mil & 2.5+ in the demo. Robert or Bill will u be able to post the 18-34 demos this week? I’m interested since the 2 show attract young viewers.
Rachel, the LIVE+7 numbers for the week of 2/9-2/15 should be up on or around Wednesday. The numbers for 2/16-2/22 should be up on or around the following Wednesday, the numbers for 2/23-3/1 the following Wednesday, etc. It’s fairly systematic assuming we receive the data.
Denver, unfortunately there’s not enough interest in the Saturday night posts to invest the time to go back and update the tables, but we should see the data sometime Monday so if you post another comment Monday afternoon, I’ll remember and post them here in the comments. Or you can e-mail me.
Got it. Thanks.
FOX does better with Cops and AMW on Saturday then with TSCC and Dollhouse on Friday.
Indeed it was a night of DVR viewing. We watched CSI, The Secret Life of The American Teenager, Cops, and Kyle XY.
I don’t know about any one else, but I love to DVR 48 Hours Mystery.
