“THIS WEEK” CONTINUES TO CLOSE TOTAL VIEWING AND

A25-54 GAPS WITH “MEET THE PRESS”

“THIS WEEK” BEATS “FACE THE NATION” AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS AND A25-54

“THIS WEEK” CUTS VIEWING GAP WITH “MEET” BY 44% YEAR TO DATE

According to Nielsen Media Research, ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” continues to close the gaps with NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Versus the same week last year, “This Week” cut the total viewing gap with NBC’s “Meet the Press” by 570,000 (38%) and the key Adults 25-54 demographic by 180,000 (43%). Year to date, “This Week” closed the total viewing gap with “Meet” by 44%. Posting 3.40 million Total Viewers and 1.25 million Adults 25-54 to place second for Sunday, March 1, “This Week” posted the highest week-to-week demo growth of the all three morning discussion programs (4%).

Compared to the same week last year, “This Week” is up 11% in Total Viewers while “Meet” is down 5%. Among Adults 25-54, “This Week” is up 3%, while “Meet” is down 9%. Season to date, “This Week” is in second place with an average of 3.39 million Total Viewers, a growth of 21% compared to 2008. First Quarter to date, “This Week” is up 14% with 3.44 million viewers vs. 1Q 2008, while “Meet” is down 4% (4.24 million).

George Stephanopoulos is the anchor of “This Week” and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
