Any questions for Friday Night Lights' Stacey Oristano?

We've typically passed on celebrity interviews in the past because of our focus on ratings.  But it's not lost on us that despite the focus on ratings, that our site's readership is mostly made up of fans of shows. So, when I got an opportunity to speak with Stacey Oristano who plays Mindy Collette on the critically acclaimed Friday Night Lights,  I told her publicist I was interested if it was OK to ask her whether she and the rest of the cast and crew obsess over ratings and renewal prospects as much as the fans.

It was, so we're scheduled to chat on Wednesday.   I'll of course also ask if she's heard anything about renewal, but don't be too surprised if that information doesn't trickle down to the cast (typically, it seems like it doesn't).

But any Friday Night Light fans who have questions you want to ask Stacey, please post them in the comments or e-mail me (info is under the contact link in the navigation above) and I'll do my best to ask.

If the interview happens as scheduled I'll  put it up on the site next Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

  1. What was it like getting to have a big story arc in the 3rd season when in the first two seasons you were more of a background character?

  2. Cowboys Fan

As a huge Dallas Cowboys fan is she happy T.O. was released?

  3. Nick C

Cowboys Fan, I’m sure Bills fans are happy.

Friday Night Lights is my favorite show bar none and one of my favorite of all-time. I could interview the show’s caterer for six hours and never get bored.

Here are a couple things I’d be interested in:

The cast of FNL is so deep and so talented. As a fan I’d have a hard time picking out the “best” actors on the show. Who do you most look up to in the cast? Who are the best improvisational actors in the cast?

What are your favorite episodes of FNL and why?

Do you pay any attention at all to the business end of the show – ratings, renewal possibilities, the DirecTV deal, etc.? Do you personally expect there to be a fourth season of FNL?

I’ve read that some people in Texas just *hate* FNL and think it presents a stereotypical view of small-town Texans. Is that a fair criticism?

Looking forward to seeing this interview…..

I love FNL and Mindy is so funny.

    Two questions :

    - If the Show gets a 4th season, will you be in it ?

    - Which is your favourite scene of FNL ?

In watching “Friday Night Lights,” a real comraderie is tangible among the actors. You all seem like real family, lovers, and friends. Is that “family” vibe coming through off the set?

Firstly, I’d like to say what an inspired move of the writers it was to bring Mindy and Billy together at the start of the third season. I enjoyed every minute of screentime they had together, what were your first thoughts when you heard the writers plan for Mindy?

At present, your character tends to solely interact with her family, Lyla and the Riggins’ brothers for obvious reasons, therefore if you could have a scene with any cast member you haven’t done one with yet – who would you choose and why?

Do you have a favourite Friday Night Lights moment, on or off camera, that you would like to share?

What do you enjoy most about working in Austin? What are your favourite things about the city?

  9. Mark

Thanks for helping to bring us the best show on TV!

I have seen some reviewers criticize the Collette family as being too unrealistic, that these women couldn’t possibly be making the crazy choices they are making. Do you ever feel like you’re playing a caricature, or do the characters seem believable given the atmosphere they have grown up in?
