Monday night at 8pm.  I'm guessing they wouldn't have let her do this if TSCC was still on Monday's at 8pm.  Here's a clip from the epiosde:

Just saw the commercial for this. Unfortunately for Terminator I don’t think it will help either show. I don’t watch the FOX drama but I heard they randomly had Summer Glau in her bra and panties in a scene. They really must be desperate at this point.

    Or creative visionaries. :P

  3. Gusar

Kevin, it wasn’t randomly, it had a very specific purpose. It was part of Sarah’s dream and it highlighted Sarah’s fear of what effect Cameron’s sexuality will have/already has on John.

  4. Outlander

Josh Friedman has screwed the pooch on TSCC. There are too many little subplots and characters and stuff rolling around in order for him to properly develop any of them. The show comes off as a jumbled mess.

Gusar, the reason why people are upset at the “Summer strolling around in her underwear” scene isn’t necessarily that the scene was gratuitous. As you say, it’s perfectly appropriate in the context of Sarah’s dream. The fan frustration is deeper than that: Summer is one of the only people on that show who can actually act and her character is clearly a fan favorite. Yet, we don’t get any opportunity to interact with that character, because the show is too busy screwing around with Riley and Jesse and Terminator-Of-The-Week and Sarah’s visions and Cromartie/John Henry and Catherine Weaver and the mystery factory in the desert and…

Anyway, I’ll be tuned into Big Bang Theory for sure!

  5. Vader

Terminator-of-the-week? Have you actually been watching the show this season or at all? Friedman specifically said sometime before last season started that he wasn’t going that route. But please, feel free to show me the 30 different terminators that have shown up in the series.

  6. I dunno, Robert. I think Fox is so desperate at this point that they might have actually pitted Summer vs. Summer to see if it paid off the following week.

It’s a shame that her show is not providing any lead in at all to Dollhouse, which after Friday I think I could actually enjoy if they get more consistent.

Which Eliza says happens at episode 6, only almost half way through their network order.

    It kills me. KILLS ME.

  7. Jason

I think only the well-intelligent can comprehend T:SCC, as it does involve some brain usage, unlike watching csi.

  8. Chris the TV sage

    Jason:

We’re laughing AT you, not WITH you.

  9. Outlander

    Vader:

The Terminator body count is at least ten. I can remember seven off the top of my head, and perhaps other commenters can supply the remaining 3.

    1) Cromartie; 2) Vick; 3) Terminator-in-the-garage; 4) Terminator-in-the-shrink’s-elevator; 5) Terminator-in-the-nuclear-power-plant; 6) Terminator-in-the-swamp; and 7) Terminator-in-the-woods. As a reminder, Terminators 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7 were all killed in the first half of Season 2.

I’m sorry guys but for me TSCC is better then most of the crap that’s showing on TV ATM. One guys said because its on FOX that he’s not watching it, THATS just dumb dude.

The show is so far been nothing but TV gold. Good acting, even better music and story line. Watch it people !

  11. Yes, the show did do “Terminator of the week” for the first 13 episodes.

Cromartie was not considered part of that, since he was around forever and was the main “bad Terminator” until Weaver showed up. Vick was in season one, not two.

However, you have to add in the Ellison Terminator who existed for about a minute until Cromartie destroyed him. Then we had the nonsense plot with the family psychiatrist who had a female Terminator come in to protect him, got destroyed by Cameron, then they killed off the doctor ANYWAY in the next episode. So what was the point of that whole bit? Just to screw around again with “Crazy Sarah”. That episode was an utter waste of everybody’s time.

And that’s why season two sucked, even though most episodes DID have some great stuff in each one of them. Most episodes had a lot of good stuff. The problem was the overall story arc was going no where, and both the pacing of the overall arc and the pacing of the individual episodes was pathetic.

There’s no question that Josh abused the time travel this season – he’s admitted as much and has taken the pledge never to do another time travel TV series.

Not that anybody is going to offer him another sci-fi show after seeing how he destroyed one that had a guaranteed hit potential.

How the HELL do you screw up TERMINATOR?!

  12. All that said, EVERYBODY loves Summer Glau.

So what does Josh do this past Friday? Stick a bomb in her head and give the trigger to John – who’s been a moron for all season.

Supposedly, according to Thomas Dekker, John gets smart in the next five episodes. So far, I’ve seen no evidence of this and the promo for next week has everybody blaming Cameron for Riley’s death, despite the utter illogic of that.

Cameron KNEW killing Riley would tee off John, so she wouldn’t do it. Plus John has already been informed by Sarah that Riley knows about Judgment Day. So what does John do? Confront Riley? No, he asks politely if she “has anything she wants to tell him”? Great interrogation methodology, John!

He should have handed Riley over to Cameron and let Cameron beat the crap out of her.

Doesn’t seem like “smart John” to me.

And so the criminal abuse of these characters goes on and on, like Josh has a sadism streak in him.

If the Sci-Fi Channel wants to buy TSCC, they need to specify that it comes WITHOUT Josh Friedman.

  13. Vader

I love how you guys turned a post that wasn’t even about the show into trashing it and calling it crap. Well done! *applauds and leaves*

  14. Armchair Oscar

Glau on BigBang is great. She’s a breath of fresh air and has the talent to go anywhere.

T:SCC is great but I share the views of many that its seems to lack direction and action. I don’t think people are trashing the show they just are waiting for it to get rocking and rolling. The last few shows have been slow but in someways the sub-plots are interesting, they just take up too much time. Bottom line is we all want some action in this show. When are we going to get it.
