Thanks, Jason. I'm not very surprised about the interview requests. it's an industry that is greased by publicity. Even though we're not nearly as big as full entertainment sites like Zap2it or Entertainment Weekly, etc., and even though we focus on ratings, it's still publicity. And hopefully entertaining content for our readers.

I'm not really sure what to do with future requests, so I'll probably stick with it for a while and see what happens. Right now, there's not as much interest in these types of posts as there are, with say overnight ratings -- and this sort of thing takes more time to produce. I'm not sure if it's possible to build much audience interest in these sorts of posts on our site, but we'll see how it goes.

Very cool interview, Robert. Since I've been in and out of the blogosphere over the past week, I'm not sure if anyone's asked this before.

Did you ever expect an actor or actress of any of these shows to be interested in an interview since this is a place that dissects ratings (and usually not to the liking of many in that biz, I'd imagine)?

In sports media, it's not only expected of athletes to conduct these types of interviews, but it's not much of a surprise to know that some of them are interested in the analytics of their performances (good or bad). It appears (at least to me) that the fans' discussions of ratings and other Nielsen stats is still relatively new and not necessarily accommodating to actors and actresses.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Even thought they might be rumours, i'm still happy to hear that FNL might get renewed. And the idea of spreading it to 2 seasons i great. With the re-runs, it can build up a proper audience. If only NBC can try it on another night. It's such a great show and it deserves that. Anyways Hope Directv and nbc make a deal soon and give some relief to all FNL fans :).

If FNL gets the 2-season renewal that has been rumoured (probably a 26-30 episode order, filmed altogether but spread over two seasons), my thinking is that the show will focus on the next generation of players and their storylines (J.D. McCoy et al), and most of the cast of the first three seasons will be graduated, moved on and their storylines closed down.

The ones that stay around town may get continuing storylines, and it wouldn't surprise me if one of the senior graduating players is kept on as an assistant coach.

I'd read at broadcastingcable.com a few weeks back that the first three seasons of 'Friday Night Lights' is one of the series being considered for MyNetworkTV's new programming distribution services model. If the show gets a 4th/5th season pick-up, the re-running of those first 50 episodes would help to promote and build interest in the new seasons on DirecTV and NBC.

George, Body Politic hasn't been picked up yet. I hear it's in a strong position, but who knows? But I don't think any of it is a done deal yet. Plus from what I read is that even if FNL gets picked up, Minka wasn't going to have a major role on the show in season 4 anyway so it's conceivable she could do both.

Cowboys Fan, nope, I didn't. But at least I can say that the first actress I ever interviewed played a stripper on TV!
