"So You Think You Can Dance" has a two-night four-hour premiere starting Thursday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 27. Once auditions conclude, two-hour weekly performance shows will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. with one-hour results shows on Thursdays at 9 p.m.
A new scripted psych ward drama called "Mental" will air Fridays at 9 p.m., debuting May 22. ["Don't Forget the] Lyrics" will serve as "Mental's" lead-in at 8 p.m. launching the same day, and will be swapped with "[Are You Smarter Than a 5th] Grader." starting July 3.
"Hell's Kitchen" is airing back-to-back installments this year and will return with a two-hour debut on Tuesday, July 21 at 8 p.m. Also, Saturday night staples "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted" will continue into the summer.

So You Think You Can Dance is overrated, the better dance series is MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew which should be on a real network b/c its the best reality competition out there right now.
Looks like FOX wants to kill Mental.
Without reality TV, what would FOX be?
Without reality TV where would any of the networks be? The only one who might be able to survive right now is CBS but even then they still have their fair share of it. Of course I’m not one of those who thinks reality TV is a dirty word.
On another note Mental sounds interesting but it is indeed a shame that Fox seem keen to bury it on a Friday over the summer…
Indeed, “Without X, Network Y would be Toast!” could be applied to any network, and is also entirely moot.
Why waste Metal in the summer?!?!?
Mental*
Why does FOX place Mental in the Friday 9 slot in the summer? Are they trying to murder this show. At least they could put it in a decent timeslot considering most of them are to be repeats.
That does sound kind of harsh for Mental. I haven’t heard a thing about it, but you would think that if this is the only scripted show coming on for the summer it would get a better slot than Fridays at 9.
So what does this mean for Dollhouse? Will it be anywhere in repeats? If not aired in repeats, how can it build word-of-mouth?
This doesn’t look like good news for “Mental.” Then again, if FOX is rolling the dice and hoping for a “sleeper hit,” why not try Friday nights in the summer? I distinctly remember that I was drawn to the X-Files in that very time slot, and I vaguely recall it may have been in the spring/summer time frame. Most likely, FOX has already decided that Mental is going nowhere. Kind of like CBS did with Swingtown…I think…
Without reality tv where would Fox be? It still has House, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Pro football and Bill O’Reilly. Yeah, I know he’s part of Fox News but he’s part of the family.
So it seems that FOX is airing their summer shows before NBC starts; I hope it doesn’t hurt NBC too much
SYTYCD? is the best dancing show, it’s the best “reality” show on the air.
I think back-to-back Hell’s Kitchen seasons may be pushing it. That’s like starting the new Presidential election campaign the week after the election or a new baseball season a few weeks after the World Series. This may backfire.
Whats the point of airing a new drama on a Friday with Dont Forget the Lyrics as a lead in. Thats like suicide
Something you may or may not find interesting.
There’s a lot of rumours doing the rounds that Fox have picked up ‘Wrestlicious’ a 13-episode all women’s wrestling show to air over the summer. The group has been in the news because they’re financed by a 19-year old powerball lottery winner.
You can see a promo for the show on YouTube…
