Four episodes into the second season of "Breaking Bad," AMC has picked up Vince Gilligan's drama series for a third cycle.

Following a well-received first season that earned the series a Peabody Award and an Emmy for star Bryan Cranston, "Breaking'" second season has garnered even more critical acclaim and commercial success.

  1. Huzzah!

  2. That’s great news. At least /something/ I like is both keeping up the quality and will be renewed…

I do wonder how they are develop the story as Walt’s diagnosis was two years to live so unless they drag out two years very slowly then I think the show has a short shelf life beyond the third season.

  4. Or he ends up living much longer than that. There are plenty of people who are given x number of days/weeks/months/years who last longer.

I’m very very happy. However, I do think that maybe it should be written as their last season. yeah, Walt can go on living longer then expected, but I don’t think he can get away with it forever. Plus, I’d much rather see a short but awesome series then a show that started really good but slowly turns horrible.

  6. Very true, Stacy, but the seasons are short enough that even after three seasons it’ll only have 27 episodes. And time does go very slowly in the show. I mean, the wife is still pregnant. In one and a half seasons no more than a month or two could have passed.

It is moving slowly. Almost too slowly. It is one of my all time favorite tv series though.

I saw one episode, and it looked like a Weeds rip off, without the humor. Good for the people involved, that they are still employed.

  9. S., it’s not. The first half of season one, particularly the pilot, is slow, and I wasn’t so interested. But by the end of the season the show is amazing.

  10. Jenna

    Awesome!
