1. That’s why they should stop aiming at woman and start doing more shows like this.

Last nights Supernatural was one of the funniest yet.

Geez, Dawn & Les….don’t let FACTS get in the way of your programming decisions. Isn’t it OBVIOUS what CW viewers want? Thursday night blows away all of your girly shows on Mon. and Tue. In fact, try cancelling Smallville and Supernatural and watch the fan backlash. Then try cancelling Gossip, OTH and 90210…and watch the “ho-hums.”

As Ricardo said above, STOP AIMING AT LITTLE GIRLS and do more shows like these two. Little girls are fanatics about the Winchester boys. That’s what girls WANT: hot guys. Not girly stories. In fact, every time you bring a new girl onto Supernatural, the female fans go nuts in rebellion! Give us intelligent MALE shows which MALE viewers will want to watch…and trust me, the little girls you covet so badly will be there, too. But when you blatantly spew nonsense about targeting only Women 12-34, it turns off every potential male viewer you have.

Will someone please explain to me why they even bothered to do a press release? I was hoping they were going to say that due to the numbers there would be no hiatus next week… I know, wishful thinking.

It seems like every single time they start picking up steam, they go into another break! I am getting sick of it-especially considering we just got back from one and we are so close to the end.

Oh and Matt I cannot agree with you more. lol. I a female in my 20s and SN is the only show I make sure I never miss. Furthermore, I don’t watch anything else on the CW.

The CW will crash and burn once Supernatural ends. Focusing on college age females and teen females while trying to build a broadcast network is beyond self destructive. You can’t be a BROADCAST NETWORK and target such a narrow niche audience. It won’t work. Period. Hell, I’m a chick and I’ll take Supernatural over that girly crap on Gossip Girl, Top Model, and 90210 any day.

  6. galveston

I’d like to point out that there’s a difference between intelligent programming that smart females will like and “girly” programming. Supernatural isn’t Shakespeare, but it is smart and clever. It’s more than handsome men parading around. If it weren’t–men wouldn’t like it. Gossip Girl is “girly.” 90210 is girly.

  7. Jenna

Supernatural, Smallville, and One Tree Hill are all expected to end in May 2010. UH-OH, DAWN AND LES! Those are your three top rated scripted shows! :O The CW is already doing poor financally… what happens when the three money makers are gone and you are left with your precious Gossip Girl and 90210, which barely average 3 million viewers (if that)? I know what happens… KARMA! :) Those three shows were brought into The CW from The WB and were treated like the hated red headed stepchild from the get go. Karma is coming back to bite the CW execs for treating their shows and fans so poorly, and it is going to hurt like one nasty b*tch!!

  8. Joseph

Regina, there has to be a break – you’ve got four episodes left, and six weeks until the traditional mid-may season finale date. The hint about something horrible coming down the pike was a perfect tease to leave fans speculating until the show comes back, presumably in three weeks. I’m not sure any of the last few epsiodes would have provided a better place for a break, and no one would have wanted the winter break to last two more weeks than it did, so this is the way things have to be.

  9. Jenna

Joseph, I know what you mean. I don’t like the break either so close to the finale, but they had no other choice unless they wanted the season it end the first week of May. I don’t know why that decision is shocking/upsetting so many fans. The only problem I have is that The CW extended the number of episodes in Gossip Girl’s season when they have about a half to a million less viewers than us…

We didn’t need the break if The CW had any brains and added another two episodes onto the season, especially after we missed out on six episodes in season three due to the writer’s strike.

  10. Kate

Yay for Supernatural! This is a great show who deserves great ratings and a lot more promotion from its network. And yes, it can appeal to both men and women since it features hot men, a good story and action!!!

  11. galveston

There are 2 more breaks for Supernatural. New eps on April 23, April 30, and May 7, then the network is taking another break and not airing the finale until May 21st, ostensibly because Grey’s finale is airing that night. Why not start again on April 16? Having 2 more breaks is ridiculous.

  12. RM/89

If you stuck around the first 8 minutes of the episode, the writers kinda bashed the network. One of the “fans” on the show said the comic book series (part of the plot) would have been more successful if they had proper promotion from the publishers. The show also b**ch slapped the fans for their complaining. LOL. Hilarious ep.

Hope the finale shoots back to original WB network numbers, maybe 5.8 million and a 2.4 in the demo.

  13. “The show also b**ch slapped the fans for their complaining”

That’s how my name ended up in TSCC – one of the writers chiding me for criticizing the show.

That’s the secret, folks! Become a celebrity by bashing your favorite show and they’ll put you IN THE SHOW! LOL!

  14. Lisa

ahahaahahahah jenna you re damned right!!! time is running short for cw, and on may 2010 this damned ‘network’ will fall apart. im really glad for SN. im following SN since it began on september 2005, and from that date its getting better and better.

  15. Richard

Jenna you are so right! I think Supernatural, Smallville and One tree hill are

the only good shows on The CW! These shows are whats left from The WB network

and have one more season left, after that The CW wont have no more good shows i

hated UPN network, The WB should have never came together to make The CW

and after whats left from The WB shows end next year The CW will fall apart!

Oh and Buffy the vampire slayer is an exception because it started out on The WB

  16. LaLaLa

I love you, Matt. Totally agree with “Little girls are fanatics about the Winchester boys. That’s what girls WANT: hot guys. Not girly stories.”

  17. Adam

Once Smallville is done, The CW is doomed!

  18. LyrisWastedTime

I completely agree with the above posts. This show is great for guys. Let’s face it. They’ve got an awesome car, guns, hot girls, great music, and most importantly its made mostly by men. And of course the girls love it too cause of the brothers, as well as the occasional romantic subplot that is over as quickly as it started. As much as we like hot girls, I firmly believe that if a show wants to attract guys, they need to have a solid male cast. Even the typical teen show The OC did great with guys until the balance in the cast shifted.

  19. Netra

I think that Smallville and Supernatural are the best shows the CW has…I don’t bother with watching that network until Thurs. nights between 8-10….my friends know not to even call me between those hours!!!! But when those two shows are gone, so will my viewership be!!!!

  20. Terrebenthx
