Fox is tweaking its summer schedule, moving new drama "Mental" back a week and adding a new reality skein to the mix.
"Mental," the internationally-produced drama starring Chris Vance and Annabella Sciorra, will now launch a week later than previously announced, on Friday, May 29, at 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, Fox also announced that its new unscripted skein "The Fatchelor" -- er, "More to Love" -- will premiere on Tuesday, July 28 at 9 p.m.
Net will utilize veteran hit "Hell's Kitchen" to launch "More to Love." As previously announced, the Gordon Ramsay skein will air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., launching on July 21.[...]
Besides "Mental," "Fatchelor" -- er, "More to Love" -- and "Hell's Kitchen," Fox's summer slate includes "So You Think You Can Dance," "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader."

I still don’t understand why Mental is getting placed on a Friday at 9. I mean the ONE new scripted show gets a lame time. I haven’t read anything about the show, but still. FOX must not care about this show at all. Could it not switch time slots with House reruns?
I believe Mental’s delay means Fox will have time to air all the remaining Dollhouses in their usual slot.

Why does Fox want to kill Mental? They can’t expect anything good on Fridays, they should move it to Tuesdays.
Dennis, the logical conclusion is that FOX doesn’t think it can expect anything good of it on Tuesdays.
Yeah, but there’s no way Mental will get 1.5-like ratings on Tuesdays, but on Fridays…

I still think Mental sounds like an interesting show however the more I hear about it the easier it becomes to understand why Fox is trying it over the summer on a Friday. The show doesn’t read like a mainstream hit at all and I get the impression that Fox may very well be hedging their bets a little, which makes sense.
And I’m a little disappointed although not surprised that More to Love isn’t going up against The Bachelorette.
What’s the big deal? They pushed the show ‘Mental’ back one week. It’s not like they delayed putting it on at all.
Meli, I don’t think most people are bothered that it was pushed back a week, they are bothered by the fact it was scheduled on Friday to begin with.
i will be whacing TNT as they have new shows this summer and plus The Closer is coming back and so is Ture Blood and Leaverage and Saving Grace place 2 new shows TNT has this summer….. Ratily is boring i would rather watch a nice daram show
