Ratings Report for ABC News’ “Nightline”

FOR THE 13th STRAIGHT WEEK,
“Nightline” GROWS IN TOTAL VIEWERS VS. LAST YEAR
“Nightline” OUTPERFORMS “LETTERMAN” IN TOTAL VIEWERS
ABC News’ “Nightline” grew for the 13th straight week among Total Viewers compared to the same week last year, according to Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” posted 3.69 million for the week of March 30, 2009 and increased the most compared to the competition. “Nightline” grew 15% year to year, while NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” increased 3% and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” declined 9%.
“Nightline” is solidly in second place season to date among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49. The program increased 14% among Total Viewers and 5% among Adults 25-54 compared to last season. Additionally, “Nightline” outperformed CBS’ “Letterman” among Total Viewers.
ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
