“CW needs original Shows for Sunday Nights”

[sarcasm] What?! are you kidding?! CW sundays are the best! They needed to kill Reba and 7th Heaven because that’s what was getting the ratings. CW needs low ratings to keep Dawn’s rep intact. She has a rep for providing low quality entertainment to inept young girls and men who may-or-may-not be confused on their parts (no disrespect).

Look at her roster-
She’s given us the one-hour dramas in television history: PCD presents, Runaway, Life is Wild, CW Now, Hidden Palms, Farmer Wants a Wife and Crowned. The List just goes on and on. Jericho and Sunday Night Movies are performing better than expected. Now how can you say CW needs original programming for sundays? [sarcasm]

17 mil at 7 o’clock? How many people are actually home at 7pm? 6:00, rather. It’s surprising cuz I always thought, like fri & sat, nobody would be home on Sundays, at least until 8pm. Is there a way the Nielsens can measure the audience at 5/6pm?

KINGS was a great concept, but in the end its just fell flat with the masses. I think it would have worked better on cable. Given time, it could have been better. These days its succeed out of the starting gate or die.

Sam — ack. I think you’re probably right. The first source I got data from had it listed as 3 STRIKES, but the later sources have it listed as Cutthroat Island. The numbers were the same though, but I will change the labeling.

The Celebrity Apprentice is doing very well. It average 7.9 million viewers and a 3.0/8 in A-18-49. It was up from last week despite people saying it will be down because Khloe and Tionne were fired which they deserved to be. It just proves its a great show. Dateline NBC really helped the show. Next week will start off strong and build every half hour because those 8.6 million who tuned in at 10 and 10:30 will stick around since it ended with a cliffhanger and To Be Contiued. People will want to see what happens. Desperate Housewives will not affect it. It was clever of NBC to do the episode the way it was yesterday. And plus from the New York Post Trump stated that NBC is considering on doing The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice together in one season which means the show will most likely be renewed for more seasons!

CW Sunday Nights – are they even trying any more?

NBC is not regretting pulling KINGS in favor of DATELINE. KINGS wasnt bad but it was just too bland, boring and was like a shirt with too much starch in it (as some blogger commented). At least its still on Saturday nights – for those who still care about it.

So of the 20 new CC episodes, only 9 have started in the 9/8 slot. Ten have been pushed back by sports and 1 moved up to 8/7. If CBS cancels, they will have to move an existing show to that spot; a new show will never gain traction.

Sending Kings to Saturday night seems to have helped NBC. Sunday night TV is so boring without Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters.

I think Celebrity Apprentice was up in every half hour vs last week. I guess it helps when your lead in isn’t doing a 1.1

Dateline scored higher at 8 than every airing of Kings.
