"NIGHTLINE" CONTINUES TO GROW SEASON TO DATE, YEAR TO YEAR AND WEEK TO WEEK
"NIGHTLINE" IN SECOND PLACE SEASON TO DATE
ABC News' "Nightline" continues to grow season to date, week to week and year to year, according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of April 6, 2009. "Nightline" posted 3.92 million Total Viewers, increasing for the 14th straight week in Total Viewers compared to the same week last year. The program also grew the most vs. last year among Total Viewers (12%) compared to the competition. Week to week, "Nightline" was the only show to experience gains versus the competition, growing 6% among Total Viewers and 10% among Adults 25-54.
"Nightline" is solidly in second place season to date among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49. The program increased 14% among Total Viewers and 4% among Adults 25-54 compared to last season.
Additionally, "Nightline" outperformed CBS' "Letterman" among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the week.
*Note: NBC and CBS aired repeats last week. CBS' ratings were based on a two-day average due to NCAA and Master's highlights.
ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
