With its hit Sunday night series “Hannah Montana,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Sonny With a Chance” ranking as the week’s Top 3 TV telecasts, Disney Channel stood as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day in Tweens 9-14 (525,000/2.1 rating) for the third consecutive week.  Impressively, this week stood as the net’s most-watched week in the daypart in almost 4 months (since week of 12/29/08) in the target measure, and second-most-watched week of 2009 to date overall.

In Prime, surging week to week by 13% in Kids 6-11 (1.0 million/4.2 rating vs. 884,000/3.5 rating) and by 25% in Tweens 9-14 (884,000/3.6 rating vs. 706,000/3.6 rating), Disney Channel posted its 211th and 207th straight week, respectively, at the No. 1 position.

  • Among Tweens 9-14, Disney Channel aired TV’s Top 3 telecasts with “Hannah Montana” (2.1 million/8.4 rating), “Wizards of Waverly Place” (1.6 million/6.7 rating) and “Sonny With a Chance” (1.5 million/6.1 rating), and the Top 10 scripted live-action TV telecasts overall in the key demo.

  • Among Kids 6-11, fronted by Sunday’s “Hannah Montana” (2.0 million/8.0 rating), TV’s No. 1 live-action telecast for the week, Disney Channel was home to TV’s Top 10 telecasts in the genre in the core target.

“Hannah Montana” (Sunday, 4/19/09, 7:30-8:00 p.m.)

On the heels of the theatrical release, “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” which opened to $32.2 million at the U.S. box office – – the biggest opening day ever for a live-action G-rated film, and the #1 April bow in Disney’s history – – Disney Channel’s hit series “Hannah Montana” was the week’s No. 1 TV telecast in Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million/8.4 rating) and the No. 1 live-action telecast in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million/8.0 rating).

  • Sunday’s original “Hannah Montana” delivered the series’ largest audience for a firstrun in nearly 5 months in Total Viewers (4.8 million), Kids 6-11 (2.0 million/8.0 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million/8.4 rating) – – since 11/9/08, 11/23/08 and 11/16/08, respectively.

  • “Hannah Montana” dominated its time slot Sunday night, ranking as TV’s #1 show in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, towering over runner-up Cartoon Network by a commanding 115% (932,000) and 233% (630,000), respectively.  In Total Viewers, “Hannah Montana” was easily the No. 1 cable telecast in the half-hour, and ranked an impressive No. 3 among all TV telecasts, ahead of NBC (4.1 million, “Miss U.S.A.”) and Fox (3.4 million, “King of the Hill”).

“Sonny With a Chance” (Sunday, 4/19/09, 8:00-8:30 p.m.)

Building over last week’s outing by an impressive 31% in Total Viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.6 million), by 40% in Kids 6-11 (1.4 million vs. 1.0 million) and by 36% in Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million vs. 1.1 million), Sunday’s “Sonny With a Chance” delivered its best numbers in five weeks – since of 3/15/09.

  • Versus all TV in its primary 8 o’clock time slot, TV’s No. 1 program, “Sonny With a Chance” more than doubled second-place Cartoon Network in Tweens 9-14 (121%; 1.5 million vs. 680,000) and surpassed by 47% in Kids 6-11 (1.4 million vs. 951,000).

“Wizards of Waverly Place” (Sunday, 4/19/09, 8:30-9:00 p.m.)

Delivering its largest Total Viewer (3.7 million) and key kid audiences for an original episode in five weeks (since 3/15/09), Sunday’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” ranked as TV’s No. 2 live-action telecast for the week in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million/6.7 rating) and the No. 2 telecast overall in Tweens 9-14 (1.6 million/6.7 rating), behind only “Hannah Montana.”

  • The No. 1 TV telecast in its 8:30 p.m. time slot, “Wizards of Waverly Place” more than doubled runner-up Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 (140%; 1.7 million vs. 708,000) and nearly tripled delivery in Tweens 9-14 (174%; 1.6 million vs. 585,000).
  • Week to week, “Wizards” delivered significant gains, climbing by 28% in Total Viewers, by 42% in Kids 6-11 and by 45% in Tweens 9-14.
