The Award Show Broadcast Live and For the First Time in HD Reached 5.8 Million People
MIAMI – April 24th, 2009 – Telemundo Communications Group, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, announced its results for The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm, which aired live for the first time in High Definition on Thursday, April 23rd at 8pm EST.
According to Nielsen Media Research data, The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm had its best delivery in its history among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Women 18-49, Men 18-49, Men 18-34 and Persons 2+. This year’s show reached 5.8 million unique viewers (Persons 2+) during the telecast, growing 300,000 over last year.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm averaged a record-breaking 1,340,000 A18-49, growing +22% from last year. Program ratings among other key demos surpassed last year’s numbers among total viewers (2.3 million), +11% ; Adults 18-34 (770,000) +28%; Women 18-49 (726,000) +28%; Men 18-49 (614,000) +17% and Men 18-34 (386,000) +36%.
La Alfombra Roja de los Premios Billboard Presented by State Farm, averaged 810,000 Adults 18-49, outshining last year’s time period delivery by +36%.
