Today weatherman Al Roker will co-host a new morning show on The Weather Channel, as part of a cross-network programming scheme designed to link NBC to its sibling cable network.
Premiering this summer, Wake Up with Al will run weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., one hour before Today dawns each morning on NBC.
Roker will share hosting duties with The Weather Channel’s Stephanie Abrams, who’ll hold down the fort from the network’s home studio in Atlanta.
Given NBC's $3.5 billion acquisition of The Weather Channel last summer, I'm surprised it has taken so long for this to happen.

“Wake Up With Al”… Not a very pleasing prospect.
I’ll sleep in, thanks.
Man, this article is just ripe with possible puns and jokes. Quickly people, do your part!
I’m not sure if I my TV can WEATHER another hour of Al Roker.
Bravo!
wAT drug where thoes guys on wheen they came up with the name!!?
One word:
Why?
Was Willard Scott unavailable?
Who’s Al Roker?
Just hopes he makes it easier for any local cable system to go local for their forecast. Working for an NBC station, his outcue of “Your neck of the woods” is harder to hit when he goes real fast or messes around with it.
