JIMMY FALLON TOPS 'LATE Late Show' IN EVERY KEY RATINGS CATEGORY 
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – April 30, 2009 – NBC's late-night lineup has won the week of April 20-24 in adults 18-49 and total viewers, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" beat CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" five of five nights despite the airing of encore "Tonight" telecasts on Thursday and Friday due to the illness of host Jay Leno. At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" ranked #1 on five of five nights last week versus CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in adults 18-49, including a tie. 

Jay and Jimmy topped Letterman and Ferguson respectively in all key ratings categories for the week: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 and total viewers. 

Jay won the 11:35 p.m. ET hour by a 28 percent margin over Letterman in 18-49 viewers, while Jimmy Fallon beat Ferguson at 12:35 a.m. by 22 percent. Jay and Jimmy stretched those leads in the younger half of the key 18-49 demo, adults 18-34, with Jay winning by 46 percent and Jimmy topping Ferguson by 45 percent. 

Jay is increasing his leads over Letterman this season vs. last, establishing a 29 percent margin over Letterman in 18-49 viewers, up from a 24 percent lead at this point last season, and a 33 percent advantage in total viewers, up from last year's 28 percent. Jimmy Fallon leads Ferguson for their eight weeks of competition by a 49 percent advantage in 18-49 viewers and 18 percent in total viewers. Both Jay and Jimmy once again stretch their leads among younger adults, with Jay enjoying a 48 percent margin in 18-34 viewers season to date and Jimmy Fallon out-delivering Ferguson so far by 88 percent. 

Since his March 2 debut, Jimmy Fallon has finished #1 in the time period on 40 of 40 nights in adult 18-49 rating, including two ties. 

For the week of April 20-24, Jay's average 1.672 million adults 18-49 topped the 1.306 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 4.540 million persons beat Letterman's 3.394 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 672,000 out-scored Letterman's 461,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon's 976,000 adults 18-49 for the week out-delivered Ferguson's 797,000; in total viewers, Jimmy's 1.827 million beat Ferguson's 1.764 million; and in adults 18-34, Jimmy's 460,000 topped Ferguson's 317,000.
