Network’s Website Garners Impressive +171% Growth in Unique Users
MIAMI – April 30, 2009 – Telemundo Communications Group, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, announced its results for telemundo.com’s coverage of The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm, which aired live for the first time in High Definition on Thursday, April 23rd at 8pm EST. The network’s website showed significant growth across all key performance indicators when compared against last year.
This year, Telemundo.com registered almost three times the number of unique visitors (701,114) it had last year (258,499). Page views (18,900,000) are up this year by an astonishing +700% versus last year (2,313,204). Video streaming also displayed significant growth with almost twice the amount delivered prior year (275,278 vs. 159,763). Engagement with the site is significant, as every user saw an average of 15.4 pages versus 8.9 pages last year. The State Farm live camera reported over 9,400 live subscribers the night of the event.
An SMS initiative generated 13,553 text messages when tallying messages sent to users as well as messages sent by users. SMS users were able to participate in a sweepstakes, award trivia, live red carpet “best dressed” voting, guess the award winners, and learn more about the night’s featured artists. Additionally, Telemundo Movil, Telemundo’s mobile internet service, reported 259,659 page views and 31,020 unique users who were able to access photo galleries of many of the winners, video, a list of the nominees and the sweepstakes entry form on the site.
According to Nielsen Media Research data, The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm had its best delivery in its history among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Women 18-49, Men 18-49, Men 18-34 and Persons 2+. Throughout the show, 5.5 million unique viewers (Persons 2+) tuned in during the telecast.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm averaged a record-breaking 1,340,000 A18-49, growing +22% from last year and nearly 2.3 million total persons.
