1:00p PDT:  Now updated with show data table below...

10:15 AM PDT: I still haven't seen the overnight report, but James Hibberd reports Dollhouse was seen by 2.8 million viewers and earned a 1.0 preliminary adults 18-49 rating.  There was apparently some overrun from Prison Break which might impact Dollhouse's numbers (possibly for the better) when it's factored out.  Prison Break drew 3 million and a .9 adults 18-49 rating.   For now, it looks like "Gossi" in the comments called it right!

9:15 AM PDT: Nielsen has apparently not quite gotten all the way back on track and we hear the numbers will be out later today.  I predict CBS wins the night, that Ghost Whisperer has the night's best numbers and that Dollhouse finale gets the same 1.1 adults 18-49 rating it got last week.

You might see the data before it gets posted here, if so, please post links in the comments so others can see it too.  I will update this post with Friday night's info when I can.

You can compare with previous Friday overnight reports.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  1. Didn’t Dollhouse get 1.1 last week?

  2. Dario

    Hahahaha!
“You can compare with previous Friday overnight reports.” compare what?

  3. Dario

I think that Dollhouse finale will have 1.3 or 1.4…

  4. Julia, yes, fixed. Dario, you can compare your 1.3 or 1.4 prediction! ;)

  5. Rick

Im seeing 1.4/5 and 3.49 mil

  6. Remi

    What’s with all the delays?

  7. Peter

Putting “Dollhouse” on Friday night was just plain stupid. You’d think after what happened to “Dark Angel” FOX would’ve learned that people go out on Friday nights to see sci-fi/action MOVIES (e.g., Wolverine, Star Trek, etc.), not SHOWS. Every other network knows that. Why are you so incredibly stupid, FOX?

  8. gossi

I’m thinking 1.0/4 in 18-49. It won’t have scored well.

  9. Remi, more info here:

Though Nielsen did seem to get all caught up with Thursday numbers coming when they normally should’ve yesterday.

  10. Lisa

why did you post if you have no numbers?? this is just evil to dollhouse’s fan.

  11. I posted to let people know the ratings were delayed.

  12. Maz

Not so much, the post entitled “Say goodbye” was much more evil :)

  13. Maz, maybe you and Lisa can go start a site called TheTruthisEvil.com :D

  14. Lisa

‘say good bye’ is not evil.
its like: I jenny, say goodbye to your car.. i brought that to the garage, but it will be back in 2 days!
so the rating are delayed, we won’t see that until tomorow or what?

  15. David Lawn

Did anyone think Everybody Hates Chris is definitely over now after the way it ended.

Is it for the same reason as reaper, less women watching?

  16. The_GodfatherSJP

Robert, considering that we’ve yet to see any series finale episode get an appreciable bump, save Battlestar Galactica, I doubt we’ll see another bump here. If anything, I expect the numbers to go down more. Yes, that’s because of Star Trek, which looks like it’s on the way to as big a weekend globally as Wolverine. What’s the difference? Star Trek would probably draw away more of Dollhouse’s target audience.

Wolverine’s a comic, Star Trek is SCI-FI, a lot of you are thinking I’m nuts for making that comparison. Wolverine had a leaked work print and a lot of bad buzz leading up to it’s release along with negative reviews (it’s getting 37% at Rottentomatoes.com). Star Trek has the opposite, great buzz and lots of positive reviews. The SCI-FI crowd’s more enthusiastic about it and I think they’ll skip Dollhouse to go see it. Wolverine’s also getting good takes so far for its second week. It’s officially summer movie season and you’ve got 2 big films out. Barring a miracle I don’t see how Dollhouse performs better.

  17. Joss's Biggest Fan

I think it’s clear that the ratings are delayed because Dollhouse’s finale numbers were AWESOME but the Nielsen people wanted to double check them!

  18. Matt

I predict 1.2 at best with a 3.2 mill. id be surprised if it was higher. I hope its lower lol

  19. I think the thing I will miss most after Dollhouse is canceled is Joss’s Biggest Fan’s posts. :(

  20. buffywrestling

If the series finale is *worse* than last week; it deserves to crunched into a fine power and sprinkled over Robert’s Weetabix.
