CBS’s The Late Late Show Tops Late Night With Jimmy Fallon In Viewers

“The Late Late Show” Also Ties “Late Night” in Adults 25-54 for the First Time and Finishes in Its Closest Competitive Position in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
CBS’s THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON finished ahead of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in viewers for the first time and tied in adults 25-54 for the initial time as well, according to Nielsen live plus same day highlights for the week ending May 8.
Since Jimmy Fallon’s March 2 premiere, THE LATE LATE SHOW matched its closest competitive position with “Late Night” in both adults 18-49 (-0.1, for the fifth consecutive week) and adults 18-34 (-0.1, for the first time with first run episodes airing against first run episodes).
THE LATE LATE SHOW posted a 1.4/05 in households with 1.87m viewers, +7% in viewers (from 1.74m) compared to the same week last year. THE LATE LATE SHOW was up +25% in adults 18-34 (0.5/03 from 0.4/02), +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/04 from 0.7/04) and even in adults 18-49 (0.6/04) compared to the same week last year.
THE LATE LATE SHOW beat “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in viewers (1.873m vs. 1.867m) for the first time. The programs tied in both households (1.4/05, each) for the third time in 10 weeks and in adults 25-54 (0.8/04 vs. 0.8/05) for the first time ever.
Season-to-date, THE LATE LATE SHOW is up +8% in households (1.4/05 from 1.3/05), +10% in viewers (1.89m from 1.73m), +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/04 from 0.7/04) and even in both adults 18-49 (0.6/03) and adults 18-34 (0.4/02) compared to last year.
