It took 33 weeks of a 35 week broadcast TV season, but Fox now holds the season to date lead in all major age demos (18-49, 18-34, 25-54) for the 2008-9 season. Its margin in adults 25-54 is razor thin, but I think is likely to expand in the final 2 weeks. Fox is well ahead in the 18-49 and 18-34 demos, as is CBS in average viewers for the season, those positions aren’t going to change.
Even with the big boost of the Super Bowl week (see below) NBC now trails ABC in the adults 18-49 and 25-54 demos, and just slipped into a tie with ABC for the adults 18-34 demo, and I’d guess will fall behind in the final two weeks.. Of course, without the Super Bowl numbers, NBC would be well behind ABC everywhere now. See the boost they received from Super Bowl week alone in the table below.
