Bones

Update: Bones has been renewed for two seasons.

This is a bit anticlimactic since after Thursday's season finale FOX ran voice over saying something like, "Bones will be back with new episodes in the fall".  That was definitely official enough for me, but for those needing more, it's officially official, officially.  James Hibberd reports:

After protracted haggling over the show's license fee, Fox has picked up veteran dramedy "Bones" for a fifth season.

That’s a shame. I think the end would have been the perfect ending to the entire series.

  2. ljo

Great news! I love this show.

  3. domajoho

I am thrilled by this news. A lot of BONES fans were freaking out that it was questionable that it WOULDn’T be renewed. I just couldn’t imagine why it wouldn’t be renewed. It was a solid performer for FOX.

  4. domajoho

Oops. I meant to say ‘…..questionable that it WOULD be renewed”.

  5. Sam

    YES.

BECAUSE THAT CLIFFHANGER AS A SERIES FINALE ENDER WOULD HAVE SUCKED.

    ROFL @ nick
and for heavens sake Robert, get a new picture. XD

  7. Nick C

Sam, you’re wrong that would have been the best ending ever to any series. Period. It would have been a work of brilliance. Although ST ELSEWHERE all being in the mind of a some kid with autism is still hard to beat.

  8. I hate St. Elsewhere type endings. Yes, let’s completely negate everything that we’ve spent years watching and involved in.

Oh, thank goodness! I wasn’t TOO worried, but strange things are happening these days with the networks in regards to renewals and cancelations! Now I’m only waiting for news of Chuck!

  10. Christian

Not to mention that the St. Elsewhere ending creates a LOT of problems, since ya know, some characters from ST. Elsewhere popped up in other dramas…

Julia, I know it’s such a rude way to treat fans… I think that is why I like it. The BONES ending of Booth coming out of a coma and looking at Bones and saying “Who are you?” would have been perfect along those lines.

  12. least surprising news ever. very happy too considering the season finale sucked.

  13. Do you guys enjoy this show more than CSI?

  14. Of course that ending could never be a series finale, but, as a season final, I loved it. Great episode.

  15. Anthony

I am glad too , I think Bones is a fun show. I like all the main characters.

  16. Jon

Hmm, so how come there haven’t been any reports out about CBS bubble shows? Are they still playing hardball over costs?

  17. Daniel, this show is much better than CSI.

  18. FrankJ

I agree with Julia. I think that kind of thing is okay for an episode arc or as part of the story, but when you negate the entire season or series, no thanks. Why did I waste my time with the show if the entertaining story was all for naught?

  19. Al

Great, Nick. I come here to post a comment about Bones and you ruin St. Elsewhere for me! I had no idea… is that sad or what? I looked it up, and it seems that because the Mayor of New York was in Law and Order, the whole of existence is actually a product of Tommy’s mind. I don’t know what to think anymore…

  20. Bones, 24, House, Fringe will never get cancelled for at least 2 year

But Lie to Me and Dollhouse will probably in the danger next season
