"Meet the Press" Also Tops The Competition For the Week Ending May 11 
NEW YORK – May 21, 2009 – "Meet the Press with David Gregory" was the top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program, placing first in all categories during the May 2009 sweep period, according to Nielsen Media Research data. For the month, the NBC program attracted 3.180 million total viewers, +17% (461,000) more than ABC "This Week's 2.719 million viewers, a +25% (631,000) advantage over CBS "Face the Nation's" 2.549 million, and a +153% (1,923,000) lead over "FOX News Sunday's" 1.257 million viewers. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in total viewers for 46 consecutive sweeps.

In Washington, D.C. during the May sweep period, "Meet the Press" had more viewers than the competition combined. The NBC program averaged 125,000 viewers (4.4/12), a +150% lead over CBS' 50,000 (1.6/4), +198% more than ABC's 42,000 (1.7/5), and a +468% advantage over FOX's 22,000 (0.7/2).

In homes nationally for the sweep, the NBC program posted a 2.3 rating and a 7 share. ABC followed with a 1.9/6, CBS was third with a 1.8/5, and FOX was last with a 0.9/3. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in homes for 49 consecutive sweeps (including two ties).

Among adults 25-54, "Meet the Press" was No. 1 with a 0.9 rating, topping ABC and CBS's 0.7 rating by +29% and FOX's 0.4 rating by +125%. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in adults 25-54 for 66 consecutive sweeps (7 ties), women 25-54 for 61 sweeps (4 ties), and men 25-54 for 51 sweeps (2 ties).

"Meet the Press" also won the week ending Sunday, May 11. The NBC program delivered 3.279 million total viewers, a +17% (479,000) lead over ABC's 2.8 million, +53% (1,140,000) more than CBS' 2.139 million, and a +147% (1,950,000) advantage over FOX's 1.329 million.

In Washington, D.C. for the week, "Meet the Press" had more viewers than the competition combined. NBC had 117,000 viewers (3.8/10), +144% more than CBS' 48,000 (1.6/4), a +255% lead over FOX's 33,000 (0.9/3), and a whopping +277% advantage over last place ABC's 31,000 (1.4/4).

In homes nationally for the week, the NBC program was No. 1, posting a 2.4 rating and 7 share. ABC was second with 2.0/6, CBS placed third with a 1.4/4, and FOX was last with a 0.9/3.

Among adults 25-54, "Meet the Press" was top rated with 0.9 rating. ABC was second with a 0.8, CBS was third with a 0.6, and FOX was last with a 0.4.

On its digital platforms, "Meet the Press" generated more than 270,000 online video streams from May 17 through May 21, 2009. The "Meet the Press" video podcast (available at www.mtp.msnbc.com) remains the top ranked network Sunday Morning program podcast on iTunes.
