Can ABC Start Worrying About NBA Finals TV Ratings Now?

The NBA Playoffs TV ratings this season have been on a tear (at least for the marquis matchups).

But the Orlando Magic just won to take a 3-1 lead in their series with the LeBron James lead Cleveland Cavaliers. Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers are tied 2-2 in their series with the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers still have the home court advantage, but the Nuggets have shown they can win in LA.

The difference in TV ratings between a Lakers v. Cavaliers Final and a Magic v. Nuggets Final would likely be dramatic.  Long NBA Finals series between well known teams/stars boost TV ratings, short series between little known teams spell TV ratings disaster.

With LeBron and the Cavaliers on the verge of elimination, and Kobe and the Lakers far from a sure thing to reach the Finals, is it too early for ABC and the NBA to start worrying about TV ratings?
