NBC is really stupid for cancelling Medium, it has better demo numbers than most of their shows and has more viewer count than Heroes, Chuck, Friday Night Lights and Southland.

Oh, and since we’re talking about Mark Sheppard, let me just throw my two cents in. I LOVE him! He’s one of the most underrated actors working today. He was great on the Bionic Woman (as shortlived as it was!), but my favorite performance of his was as Dr. Charles Walker on Medium!!

The best bad guy ever on that show!! I wish they could bring him back again, but since Allison sorta banished him, I doubt it’ll happen.

Re: the Bachelorette’s ratings – I’m not watching it, but unless I’m not remembering correctly, I don’t think the Bachelorette seasons have ever rated as highly as the Bachelor ones.

I’d say as long as they keep the existing writers, they should be OK. Dean Devlin has said he really likes his writers and they give him good scripts every episode, compared to most shows where he says you get a couple good scripts and the rest have to be beat on to be usable.

They spent season 1 developing Nate’s alcoholism, which presumably has been addressed by his getting revenge on his old boss. So next season we’ll probably see some movement on his relationship with Sophie – probably complicated by a possible improvement in his relations with his ex-wife, Maggie. I’d love to see Kari Matchett become a regular on the show, she was just excellent – and hot – in the last two episodes.

Was just watching a YouTube video clip of Mark at Starfury 3, the Serenity/Firefly con in England in 2006, along with Sean Maher and Jewel Staite and others. I also watched a clip on YouTube where he’s watching a video game, talking about how he’s mostly a Xbox player but he also has a Wii. So he’s a video-game buff, like a lot of sci-fi actors. Seems like a pretty cool guy for someone who plays “self-serving utter bastards” for a living.

Ditto on the Mark Sheppard love – he also appeared in a couple of episodes of Firefly, so my like of him is enhanced all the more.

I’m also worried about the show falling into a sophomore slump but I hope it doesn’t happen.

He’s been a regular on TWO shows this season: playing Jim Stirling on Leverage and Ballard’s FBI nemesis on Dollhouse.

Classic line from the Leverage finale:

Stirling: “Course you know your entire plan depended on me being a self-serving, utter bastard.”

Nate: Yeah, that’s a stretch.

I read somewhere that the team is moving from LA to Portland since California cops are down on them thanks to Jim Stirling in the penultimate episode.

I just find Portland a weird place to relocate to…But then if they are shooting in Vancouver, it makes some sense, since they can shuffle locations.

I had no idea a show about newlyweds was on, either. Either I haven’t been watching much tv or there hasn’t been much awareness about the summer tv season starting already.

*eagerly looking forward to Leverage, though a tad bit concerned about where it will go this season considering that cliffhanger*

Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, I wonder what every happened to that show where people were in a contest to eat really gross stuff (like a cow’s uterus, pig testicles, etc. – and see who could “down” the most stuff without ralphing)? I guess that’s off the air now, but really what has taken it’s place is the T.V. networks finding other ways to “pile s**t on our plates” and see if we’ll shovel it in. The sad part is that’s EXACTLY what we’re doing!! It’s just that now the s**t is disguised so that we won’t throw up, but actually ENJOY it!

I guess the bottom line for me is after one season – how much more can you show about a couple dealing with raising eight kids and still hold (or grow) fan interest? Sadly, you get one of them involved in a little (staged) hanky-panky. I say bring back the cow uterus and pig testicle eating contests. At least those shows were up front about what you were going to see when you turned them on. As for me, I’ll eat a jar of roaches before I watch the John and Kate +8 show again. It’s too bad that somehow they just couldn’t make a show about the kids and find a way to leave the parents out of it!!

But almost 10 million viewers? Who would of expected that? These network shows should feel kind of ashamed, being beat by the Gossilins and repeats. Haha.

Hopefully more people tune into John and Kate. =D.

One reality show about people who make cakes is already one too many.

Do we really need TWO reality shows about people who make cakes???? Is that what it has come to? Jay Leno on 5 nights a week and multiple reality shows about cakes?

It’s good to watch Jon & Kate so you can know when you’re wife is going total ice queen on you during a kiddie birthday party.

Rumor has it that Jon & Kate are staging their problems in order to get people interested in their “reunion.”

I’m more upset that I stuck around to see Cake Boss – that’s the flip side of Ace of Cakes

And it also apparantly just absolutely dominated among Women 18-49.

I guess if you hype things enough, people do like watching real-life marriages break down before your very eyes. Kind of like a car crash, I guess.

I am not worried about the move in the elast bit. It makes no sense for the show all of a sudden to get higher ratings than it has been on NBC, especially since it is the season finale and not REALLY the series finale.

The preview for the finale looked horribly ominous.

Could just be typical season finale builder … they might have said the same thing if the show was still coming back to the same network next year or canceled.

Although why waste the money promoting the season finale… do the numbers even matter to nbc anymore since the show is leaving te network.

Susan, I think Medium may have a lower threshold for success than Moonlight due its syndication deal.
