Meet the Press Delivers 2.6 Million Viewers

"MEET THE PRESS WITH DAVID GREGORY" IS THE NO. 1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY, MAY 31, 2009
NEW YORK ? June 3, 2009 ?"Meet the Press with David Gregory" was the most-watched Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending May 31, 2009, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The Gregory-moderated broadcast was No. 1, delivering 2.625 million total viewers, +5% more (+134,000) than second place CBS "Face the Nation's" 2.491 million, an +8% advantage (+192,000) over third place ABC "This Week's" 2.433 million and a +131% lead (+1,487,000) over FOX News Sunday's 1.138 million. The NBC program has now placed first in total viewers for 399 of the past 402 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).

In Washington, D.C., "Meet the Press" was No. 1 with 60,000 viewers (2.6/7 HH), a +25% lead over CBS' 48,000 (1.7/5 HH), an +82% advantage over ABC's 33,000 (1.3/4), and 94% lead over FOX's 31,000 viewers (1.0/3).

In homes nationally, the NBC program placed first with a 1.9 rating and 6 share. CBS and ABC tied with a 1.8 rating and 5 share and FOX placed fourth with a 0.9 and a 3 share. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in households for 137 consecutive weeks and 497 of the past 498 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).

Among adults 25-54, "Meet the Press" posted a 0.7 rating. CBS had a 0.7, ABC posted a 0.6, and FOX had a 0.3 rating.

Season-to-date, "Meet the Press" is up total viewers (+5%) and rating W/A25-54 (+10%/+9%) versus the same period last season.

On its digital platforms, "Meet the Press" generated more than 296,000 online video streams from May 31 through June 4, 2009. The "Meet the Press" video podcast (available at www.mtp.msnbc.com) remains the top ranked network Sunday Morning program podcast on iTunes.
