Cable network TLC is riding high, as the #9 cable network in prime-time this week, up from #25 a month ago. But like the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James it's all on the backs of one player, Jon & Kate Plus 8. The potentially adulterous couple and their adorable children are not only the network's top two shows by far, but two of the top 5 rated cable TV shows for the week as well.
Like the Cavaliers, TLC doesn't have much bench strength, with Jon & Kate it's among cable's top tier of networks, and without them it's just one of the pack. Cake Boss does not a TV ratings powerhouse make.

I would be interested in seeing a spotlight on VH1 next week.
SciFi—when new shows air…like the first week in July when SyFy is launched.
Kinda reminds me of FOX – American Idol, not much else goin’ on.
Wow… not much of a dip from week 2 to week 3 for J&K+8. That is a little surprising… I knew the second episode would have a big dip from the premiere, and I was also expecting a smaller, but still relevant, dip in week 3. Seems like it may have some legs after all. Those numbers are very near the pre-season 5 high rating for the show.
Can I see one for Adult Swim? I would be interested in seeing the top 20 for a network that consistently wins with the 18-34 age group.
