Well, this is pointless. I always come to this site every week to see how GSN's ratings are doing. I guess I'll never know anymore. Oh well...Neilsen is being stupid and petty. What would be the point of limiting things to 20 listings? I really see no reasoning behind this.

That's a shame about being limited to a Top 20, since now the general public will essentially receive no information about non-Top 20 networks unless the network itself decides to publicize their ratings.

This is probably good news for networks consistently near the bottom of the list, like BBC America, which probably doesn't want it widely known that its primetime lineup averages less than 100,000 viewers each week (since last year, BBCA has pushed me to DVD and the internet for all the current UK comedies and dramas I watch, since they decided to turn into the "UK Reality Channel").

I too was looking for the TV Land ratings. I like to see how they are doing since they dumped on their core audience and changed their format.

Wild Bill, TV Land is the one I was interested in watching with their recent changes, but now I guess we'll never see any numbers. Was always hard to find theirs and this is the only place I know of that had them. Is there anywhere else?

Oh well :(

I always found it more interesting to see how the lower-rated networks were doing than the top 20 but I guess I'll never know anymore.

It's not just cable ratings folks, we're limiting all our lists to 20 and there will likely be other changes as well. We will attempt to minimize the impact as best we can.

As along-time visitor to this site, I agree 1,000%. I don't know if its paranoia or sheer vindictiveness, but for Nielsen to be so anally retentive about cable ratings is only one thing in the human vocabulary: Bullshit.

Nielsen's paranoia about overall cable averages is laughable. Arbitron offers overall averages for all radio stations on their own site. So what would be so terrible about offering cable network averages? Those simple viewership averages don't drive ad sales, anyway. All that money depends on demo information and individual show numbers.
