I’m sick of 30 Rock starting late every year. Nobody is going to watch SNL Weekend Update Thursday in a non-Election year anyways, why not just start 30 Rock on time with the rest of the shows?

God everything on NBC is horrible. When a network starts calling SOuthland a hit, theres deffinitly something wrong. Heroes used to be so good now i wont be watching that because of how bad the last season was though. The only good programming on NBC is Chuck and football.

The only new series on nbc im checking out are NCIS: LA , Community, and midseason show Day One. I can say one thing the Three Rivers (cbs new series) show has a bad chance of getting renewed because its up against Desperate Housewives and Castle’s (ABC show on season 2) season premiere will be up against Heroes 2 hour season premiere I GOT ONE WORD!! UNFAIR!!

Bill Gorman, For fall shows that have like 13 episodes do most of them run like september to december and they are done for a season? What happend to having like September to May like Smallville, Supernatural, Desperate Housewives, brothers and Sisters etc.

Also im kinda happy this year because usually a lot of shows i like get canceled but this year only one did Surviving Suburbia this year a lot of shows i like r being renewed =D.

All, while we love to tout the nightly “battles”, I think it’s unlikely the Fox thinks it can “win” on Tuesday next fall. Their objective is almost certainly to simply improve on what was a bad situation (fall Tuesday’s) in past seasons.

An example would be what Fox did on Thursday this spring. The Bones/Hell’s Kitchen combo never “won” against first run competition, but it was a big improvement on last season’s Thursday results for Fox.

Biggest Loser will do better than SYTYCD, depends on who the ‘stars’ are on DWTS as to how well they’ll do. Jay will be just fine at 10.

Since I stopped watching HEROES after it declined in the second season and just got awful during the third (which was unfortunate, because it started off so good), and since I never got into the “Thursday Night Comedy Block,” I guess I won’t be clicking channel 5 (NBC Chicago) on my remote until CHUCK returns in March. Unless, of course, there starts to be a lot of chatter on TVBTN about one of the new Fall shows on NBC actually being worth watching.

The only show there I would watch is Heros, but after last season I don’t think I am going to continue to watch. I would have stopped watching last year, but with chuck coming on before I was already in front of the TV anyway.

I wasn’t referring to the Sunday itself. Of course NBC can’t affor to lose that kind of deal. I was more wondering if they would let Global air Heroes one day before, opposite to 6 days later. That happened before (i.e. I think a season of “The Shield” aired in France before it was in the US, but I’d have to check that).
That could be bad for NBC’s ratings, because I wouldn’t surprised a chunk of the audience would torrent the episode either because they can’t wait to watch it, or others because that would allow them to watch (an)other show(s) on Monday night.

A few years ago, NBC would have definitely told Global NO about the Sunday airing of Heroes…but considering the weak ratings + rising costs, I don’t think NBC can afford to lose such a lucrative deal with Global.

I suppose nobody cares since I don’t live in the US, but Heroes is still the only show that I watch which is on NBC. I still have to find a way to view Chuck to give it a real chance, and the only mid-season show I’ll give a shot at is Day One.
Hilariously, all the returning shows I watch (or used to watch) are still on Monday. It’s a good thing for me that I don’t have to choose ^^

Looks like the September 21st will be really interesting rating-wise. Anyone thinks that 2 hour Heroes-premiere sounds like a hit or miss shot? It’s gonna be competing against DWTS, a 2 hour House premiere (I’m still hesitating to give it a shot) and all of the CBS sitcoms (3 being safe choices rating-wise, and one who could eventually gather curious).
So if it’s ratings aren’t good (from the start), or if the quality isn’t good (although if the quality goes down, I expect it to do it a bit later) leading viewer to tune off mid-premiere, doesn’t it basicly damage Heroes as a lead-in for Trauma ? Premiering Trauma the same day would have made sense to me (although I don’t know anything about ratings so I’ll just shut up :>)

ps : We know that Global (Canada) will be airing Heroes on Sunday, but do anyone know if NBC is gonna be stupid enough to let it air a day before (things like that happened before)? I suppose they don’t want their network’s ratings down but since they seem to want to kill off Heroes slowly…

I just do not see ever watching Leno at the early time. I TIVO most all the shows I watch from earlier hours, but I never record talk shows. I still do not understand the only hour I really watch TV taken up by Leno.

Isnt really the thursday nfl game sept 10 the premiere of snf:

a) they even say its a “special thursday edition of snf”.
b) they count that game in the overall season rating of snf.

I double checked on another website I frequent, and unless NBC is planning something “special” that night, an encore episode (most likely the season finale) of Criminal Intent will be the lead-in for the premiere of Jay. Kind of sad, don’t you think, especially when NBC is putting all their money on Jay doing well?

I agree that the Tuesday-reality-battle is going to be awfully interesting.
But judging by the softening numbers for SYTYCD, I think Fox is going to end up being the big loser – DWTS should do its usual massive total viewers, and BL will probably squeak by in the demos. SYTYCD is gonna be left in the dust I think.
