Powered by Friday’s debut and weekend encores of original movie, “Princess Protection Program,” Disney Channel ranked as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day in Kids 6-11 (855,000/3.5 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (731,000/3.0 rating), marking its 7th consecutive week at No. 1 in the 9-14 measure, and 12th time in the previous 13 weeks at the No. 1 position.

Impressively, this week qualified as the channel’s third-most-watched week in the net’s history in Total Day in Total Viewers (2.1 million) and Kids 6-11 (855,000), and most-watched week in nearly 2 years across Viewers and target kid demos -- since week of 8/13/07, the week of “High School Musical 2’s” debut.

Fronted by Friday’s “Princess Protection Program” premiere, TV’s No. 1 telecast of the week, and the No. 1 entertainment telecast on all television this year, Disney Channel was home to the week’s Top 26 telecasts in Kids 6-11 and 25 of the Top 26 in Tweens 9-14.

Moreover, Friday’s all new “Wizards of Waverly Place” ranked as TV’s No. 1 series telecast in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 (2.5 million/10.2 rating apiece), and cable’s No. 2 scripted series telecast in Total Viewers (6.0 million), posting series highs in the key demos.

In Prime, Disney Channel stood as cable’s No. 1 network in Total Viewers (3.34 million), and registered its 221st consecutive win in Kids 6-11 (1.4 million/5.7 rating), and 217th in Tweens 9-14 (1.2 million/4.9 rating).  Moreover, this week stood as the net’s most-watched week in Prime in nearly 2 years in both target kid demos, and in 20 months in Total Viewers -- since weeks of 8/20/07 and 10/8/07, respectively.

Program Highlights:

  • Saturday’s first encore of “Princess Protection Program” (8:00 – 9:45 p.m.) delivered another commanding performance, ranking as Saturday’s No. 1 TV telecast in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million) and Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million) and TV’s No. 1 telecast in its time period in Total Viewers (4.5 million).
  • Head-to-head at 8 o’clock, “Princess Protection Program” defeated an all-new “iCarly” on Nickelodeon by 8% in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million vs. 1.2 million) and by 18% in Tweens 9-14 (1.3 million vs. 1.1 million).
  • At 8:30 p.m., “Princess Protection Program” towered over an original “True Jackson V.P.” on Nickelodeon, more than doubling delivery in Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million vs. 694,000) and nearly doubling in Kids 6-11 (1.6 million vs. 887,000).
  • Sunday’s second encore of “Princess Protection Program” (7:00 – 8:45 p.m.) stood as TV’s No. 1 scripted program in the time period in Total Viewers (4.3 million), and TV’s No. 1 telecast of the entire day in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million) and Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million).
  • An all-new “JONAS” on Sunday (8:45 – 9:15 p.m.) stood as TV’s No. 1 series telecast of the day in Kids 6-11 (1.5 million/5.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.3 million/5.4 rating).
  • “JONAS” built by an impressive 17% in Total Viewers (3.5 million vs. 3.0 million), by 15% in Kids 6-11 (1.5 million vs. 1.3 million) and by 18% in Tweens 9-14 (1.3 million vs. 1.1 million) week to week.
  • Based on an all play basis, for the second consecutive week, Playhouse Disney series accounted for 3 of TV’s Top 5 programs among Kids 2-5 with “Handy Manny” (No. 3 – 613,000/3.8 rating),  “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (No. 4 – 612,000/3.7 rating), and “Imagination Movers” (No. 5 – 550,000/3.4 rating).
