Secret Life is doing really well. If it can sustain these numbers and even go into the 5.00 million zone, it will guarenteed be back for a third season. last nights episode I think was a poorer one after the last two, but hey, I would like to get two great episodes and a bad one then all bad episodes.

What is with the John and Kate plus 8 hype? Imo, I don’t see how in the world they get 10.61 million viewers. They broke up, that is not that interesting.

Is there any predictions for the effect of The CW’s Smallville move and the effect it will have (good, bad) for the show? Will Ghost Whisperer be effected at all? I think Smallville is a great show, and I am really sorry the viewership has gone downhill. I hope it starts out strong this season and is able to maintain a fanbase. I would like to see one more season of it. What the CW is doing way wrong is adverstising. Why is Secret Life in the 4.68 million viewers? BECAUSE ALL YOU SEE WHEN YOU TURN ON ABC FAMILY IS SECRET LIFE COMMERCIALS! Plus the marathons. The CW does not advertise at all. The only thing I see them advertising is the Vampire Diaries. That does not do Smallville any good. They need those marathons too. If they were to do these, Smallville could easily have 5.10 million viewers each week from Sept.-Dec. and a good 4.50 million viewers from Jan.-May.

It’s good to see The Closer and Royal Pains in the top 20. I am really glad True Blood is still doing well, it is such a great show. I think that if Jon & Kate can retain their viewers when the show returns in August, it should be able to last.

Those are horrific numbers… Can Real World: Washington D.C retaliate with the usual incredible numbers that the show brings in? I hope so. It shows that Real World is dumb with the sex and partying and much better with substance and real life stories.

I don’t suppose someone would know what the episode of Moonlight on the Sci fi channel got last Friday would they? I only ask because it appears to be the last episode Sci Fi airs for awhile(if ever.) I’ve read the article today from Scifiwire talking about a possible Moonlight movie.

I think you can probably say this when cable performs like this during the fall/winter when broadcast is actually trying. Its also worth pointing out that BET aren’t going to have Michael Jackson’s death to spike them up to 10 million viewers every week and TLC aren’t going to have Jon & Kate divorcing every week (at least not yet) to spike them up to 10 million every week either.

Mr. Robert, here is some more insight on my part. The US Soccer game would have been in the TOP for the week once you add Univisons’ ratings to the mix. I’m expecting atleast 2.0-2.5 rating on Univision (with 2.5-3.5 million viewers). SO, the final viewership for this game (ESPN+Univision) would be somewhere between 6-7 million viewers, and possibly as high as 7.5-8.0 million viewers. Now, that is remarkable. We are still missing the number of people watching at Bars, restaurants, Airports, etc.

Hot Pocket, the show was a good production. They did great considering they had 2 days to change things up. Thats why they cut the nominee section, to make it quicker and fit in more MJ tributes.

I personally can’t wait till the VMAs get a go at it. MTV will now have time and the duty to do a bigger and better MJ tribute, the network’s and award show’s impact go hand in hand with Michael Jackson’s carrer and legacy. The Grammys are another institutuon that is tied with MJ’s career and will surely do a fitting tribute. I expect big numbers for those two, bigger than BET.

I don’t normally watch BET unless I see a music video I find interesting as I am channel surfing but I watched the awards show. It was odd but entertaining. The fact that they had winners but did not mention other nominees who were in categories was peculiar. I just figured they did it differently and then in one category they actually announced the nominees. It was also hard to keep track of who was on the stage and who was speaking and who was performing. It’s a case when one of those annoying crawls would have been helpful. I’m guessing it was because of the quick change of program but it was confusing.

Karen – in case no one posts the actual numbers I think I can give at least a point of reference:

A press release from TNT stated that Hawthorne got 3.8 million viewers this past week. It came in at #27 – so IPS and the second airing of CI were probably slightly above that and the first airing of CI slightly below. So it looks like both shows did better this week than last week, but still got knocked around a bit by the BET Award/MJ tribute.

IPS was 26th and Criminal Intent was 23rd and 30th by viewers (they ran back-to-back original eps of CI with the earlier airing being the lower of the two). Hawthorne was (27th) and Tiny and Toya on BET was 25th.
