With USA In Repeats, TNT Vaults Atop Cable Prime-time

Categories: '

With most (all?) of perennial leader USA's top scripted shows in repeats, TNT, aided by The Closer and a NASCAR race, vaulted to the top of the cable prime-time viewership averages for the week of June 29 -  July 5, ahead of both Disney and USA. TNT averaged 2.751 million viewers.

Nickelodeon, as usual, took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.217 million.

Note that we are currently in discussion with Nielsen Media about our use of their data. One element of that discussion is limiting our lists to 20 items. Sorry.

  1. Can’t wait for Leverage to come back next week!

  2. Chris

Wow, Hallmark did really well. Whatever they are doing is apparently working. And they beat TV Land in daytime too – never saw that coming.

  3. Wild Bill

Wonder what tvland did? They have been showing nothing but trash, took the classics
off from 6pm to 2am. That network has gone to SH*%. LARRY JONES CEO of TVLAND must be proud of himself. He has taken a ONCE GREAT NETWORK to a PISS POOR NETWORK. There
programming suxs, I just found out about there talk boards read here..

SEEMS there are TONS of folks who are like me who hate the network now..
NO WONDER THEY CAN’T MAKE THE CUT, THEY DON’T LISTEN TO THERE VIEWERS.
I hope they go by the way side, NO MORE TVLAND!

I see Fox News doing well, where is MSNBC? Did their left wing extremism knock them off the chart?

  5. R.G

I’m ashamed of the people who watch FOX News, it’s all bull*** propaganda.

  6. Moose

IMO, all of the news channels have their own spin. This isn’t anything new. To claim that one news network does it and that the others don’t is beyond naive. It is about time that people opened their eyes and looked beyond their own ideology. I don’t expect it to ever happen. That would require actual in depth thinking instead of reactive thinking.

  7. Hey Calvin, Fox News is the only conservative-leaning news station, so it gets the right-wing viewership in the most conservative industrialized nation.

While MSNBC splits the liberal audience with CNN, Headline, CNBC, etc, hence the smaller viewership numbers. (Personally, I prefer MSNBC and then CNN.)
