ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER? is an atypical game show measuring adults’ lack of knowledge – as revealed by how much they’ve forgotten since grammar school. Grownup contestants find themselves in a classroom setting, revisiting their youth, as they tackle subjects they’ve already been taught, ranging from art to geography and math to social studies. However, the players are not alone, and there is a way for contestants to “cheat” in this classroom. The adults have the opportunity to get some help in the form of advice from real grade-schoolers who have hit the books. Contestants will be able to “peek,” “copy” or “save” from their fifth-grade counterparts to determine the correct answer and graduate toward the top prize of $1 million.

Winner of the 2009 GSN Game Show Award for Best Game Show and 2007 Family Television Award for Outstanding Reality Show and Kids’, Teen and People’s Choice Award nominee, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER? is produced by Mark Burnett Productions in association with ZOO Productions. Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens serve as executive producers.
