1.6 million viewers was the series premiere of 10 Things…

  2. Jalen People

GLAD WAREHOUSE 13 STAYED UP! [I WATCHED IT & IT WAS GREAT!!
HAWETHORNE! BETTER BE RENEWED NEXT YEAR!!

  3. RJ, you are correct, that’s Hibberd’s error that I didn’t catch. I’ll edit it out.

  4. The1337

I hope Warehouse 13 can grow on the already impressive number.

  5. Watched second episode of W13, still unsure I’ll continue watching it. There were times I was reminded of Painkiller Jane while watching it. I know the premise and dynamic makes sense, but I also don’t necessarily feel that they have the quality writers needed to make it work, the show comes across as tired, the dialog was in places awkward, and the humor – such that it was – felt, well, not so much cheap as like a $200 TV at Wal-mart, if you know what I mean.

I don’t think it’s going to grow an audience, I think it’ll stay up for two or three more episodes and then audiences are going to start dropping. That’s unless the show suddenly hits its stride.

  6. Deadbeat

I’ve enjoyed the 2 episodes of W13. There is nothing on for me during this time of the summer, so I am glad W13 is around. And I enjoy the lead male FBI agent and the guy who oversees the warehouse. I just want to know more of the items stored in the warehouse. Somewhere in there has to be some UFO evidence.

I have to say I’m a little surprised HauthoRNe is doing so well (for cable). It’s not that great of a series. It is horrible? No, but it’s not spectacular. For me, it falls into the same category as Royal Pains, but look how well it’s doing.

  8. BIG DADDY

If you like W13 you would like Friday the 13th the series from the 80′s. Pretty much the exact same show.

  9. Visan

Hawthorne is a great show, with a cast that’s not homogeneous. The more there are actors who are reflective of what the United States looks like, the more likely more people will tune in, IMO. Plus, Michael Vartan is easy to look at! :)

  10. Deadbeat – Artie is played by Saul Rubinek who’s an awesome actor. One of the good notes the show hit, IMO.

  11. Nick

I liked W13′s episode this week a bit more than the premiere.

  12. Darius

Any word on how Eureka did on Friday?

  13. Darius

Thanks Bill. I guess Sci-Fi is happy with that number, especially on a new night.

I know some poor devil has to read these posts, because if they didn’t we could slip in naughty words or ” Nancy Pelosi had a facelift and she smells,” etc. I just want to say I want Warehouse to succeed and it is. Anything the bullies and paid-off in fruit basket ” honest critics ” at USA Today hate, I like even if I don’t like it. This ” sexusl tension” stuff ( Bones, Castle, whatever ) at least purports to be for men and women both. Are all TV addicts fanboys or thirty year old spinsters? Doesn’t anybody watch TV as part of a social gathering, or do the shutins not have ANY identification with a gender not their own?? To hell with NASCAR on one hand and stupid ” Lipstick in Trees,” on the other. TV should try to bring us together a little. United we stand, divided we get public access quality TV and pay 120 bucks a month for it. Think, people, think. If you put up with reality shows and idiotic cop procedurals, guess what you’ll have a lifetime supply of. Or just keep nitpicking that this show is too much like a show I saw when I was eleventy years old,and the chick isn’t hawt ehough for MY taste. Tick any of you off yet??

    @squiggleslash

Given the comparisons that were made about W13 being X-Files ish (surely the Holy Grail of Mainstream Sci Fi programming) I get no real chemistry from the two leads (yes they’re charming et al…just not enough).

I also agree on the writing, there are times it reminded me of Sanctuary (the Amanda Tapping vehicle) and I’m sorry to say Sanctuary left me pretty much Blah! by the end of Season 1.

Perhaps someone here could give me a ‘feel’ for what an hour of cable programming generates revenue wise per million viewers? I realise the demographics make a big difference so again some indication of weighting would be useful.

I’m amazed a show with as little as 3m viewers (that’s less then 1% of the US population) is considered a hit!!

    Jay,

I agree with you. Warehouse 13 is something everyone can watch. Television shows should be more inclusive in their demographic focus. What’s wrong with a show that men and women can both like.

  17. Lizardman

Warehouse 13′s Pilot episode was great. The follow up was more like a filler episode. Like most shows I think you have to give it five or six episodes to really see where it goes.

So far I would say it is a great series and a long time coming. It puts together elements of so many movies and other TV shows but nothing has ever been done really like it. (Librarian, X-files, Friday the 13th:the series, plus a good procedural mixed together.)

I disagree with those that have said the writing is tired. I think they are finding the characters and really setting the relationships and where they want to go.

    Good start overall though.

    Lizard

  18. craiguk – 3.4M is slightly more than 1% of the US population… but yeah… Still, a megahit in the US is around 20M viewers, and that’s the kind of audience you get if you follow one of the “sporting event of the year” type things like the Superbowl. So, in that light, with most major hits on network television only getting 8-10M viewers, 3.4M looks fairly good for a so-so show on a cable network.

Agree with you in general though.
