NATIONAL NIELSEN RATINGS FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 13 - 19, 2009

FOX KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK!

FOX scored last week with MVP performances by the 80th MLB ALL-STAR GAME, So You Think You Can Dance, COPS, AMERICA’S Most Wanted, and Sunday’s Animation Domination lineup.  FOX won the week with a 2.1/7 and beat its closest competition by 50% -- the network’s largest weekly lead to date this summer.

On Tuesday, the 80th MLB ALL-STAR GAME was watched by a total of 33.6 million viewers and posted a 4.7/14 among Adults 18-49, winning the night.  This was the fourth consecutive year that the All-Star Game’s total audience rose year over year.  In fact, the 80th MLB ALL-STAR PREGAME and GAME combined to deliver FOX’s highest rated night since May’s American Idol Season 8 finale among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers.
The next night, the Top Ten dancers performed on So You Think You Can Dance and achieved a 2.6/9 among Adults 18-49.  The dance competition continues to make gains in its second half hour while up against NBC’s America’s Got Talent.  FOX ranked No. 1 for the night, beating its closest competitor by +37% among Adults 18-49 and by +67% among Adults 18-34.

Two of the Top 10 dancers packed up their dance shoes on Thursday’s So You Think You Can Dance elimination show, which posted a solid 2.6/8 among Adults 18-49 and ranked No. 1 in its hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.  So You Think You Can Dance was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and virtually all key demos, outperforming all competitive programming including CBS' Big Brother.

On Saturday, an encore episode of COPS won its 8pm timeslot in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54 and all key male demos.  An original episode of COPS followed at 8:30p and also ranked No. 1 in its half-hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54, and all key male and female demos.  At 9p, AMERICA’S Most Wanted episode won its hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54, and all key male and female demos.

For the fifth straight week FOX won Sunday night, with strong performances by its popular animated series and an encore episode of ‘TIL DEATH.

The 2009 MLB ALL-STAR GAME posted a 4.7/14 among Adults 18-49 and was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and Total Viewers.  The 2009 MLB ALL-STAR GAME delivered its highest Total Viewers since 2002 (14.7 Mil) and its highest Adult 18-49 rating since 2004 (5.0).  The game grew +4% over last year among Adults 18-49 (4.7 vs. 4.5) and also showed gains among Men 18-49/18-34/25-54.

The 2009 MLB ALL-STAR PRE-GAME (3.3/13) outperformed last year by +10% among Adults 18-49 (3.3 vs. 3.0), +12% among Adults 18-34 (2.9 vs. 2.6) and +8% in Total Viewers (11.2 Mil vs. 10.4 Mil).
FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens, Total Viewers, Women 18-34 and Men 18-49/18-34/25-54.  The 2009 MLB ALL-STAR PREGAME and GAME combined to deliver FOX’s highest rated night since the American Idol finale on 5/20/09 among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers.

Airing against NBC’s America’s Got Talent in the 9p hour, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE gained in its last half hour compared to its first among Adults 18-49 (+8%, 2.7 vs. 2.5) and Total Viewers (+6%, 7.2 vs. 6.8 Mil).

FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34/25-54, Teens, Women 18-49/18-34/25-54.  In fact, FOX beat its nearest competitor for the night by +37% among Adults 18-49 (2.6/9 vs. 1.9/6 for ABC and NBC) and by +67% among Adults 18-34 (2.5/10 vs. 1.5/6 for ABC).
