Home to the month’s No. 1 TV/cable telecast with cross-over special, “Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana,Disney Channel stood as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 2nd consecutive month in Kids 6-11 (864,000/3.5 rating) and for the 4th straight month in Tweens 9-14 (735,000/3.0 rating).  In fact the net has ranked No. 1 on a Total Day basis for 11 consecutive weeks in Tweens 9-14 and for 5 straight weeks in Kids 6-11.

Growing its Total Day audience by double-digit percentages for the 2nd straight month, July 09 wrapped as Disney Channel’s second-most-watched month ever in Total Viewers (2.1 million), Kids 6-11 (863,000) and Tweens 9-14 (743,000) – behind August 07 -- and top-ranked-July on record in the same demos.

  • In Boys 9-14, July 09 qualified as Disney Channel’s most-watched month in the net’s history (279,000).
  • Year to year, delivery climbed by considerable double-digit percent margins, up by 24% in Total Viewers (2.1 million vs. 1.7 million), by 24% in Kids 6-11 (863,000 vs. 694,000) and by 28% in Tweens 9-14 (743,000 vs. 581,000).

In Prime, Disney Channel delivered cable’s No. 1 spot in Prime for the 54th consecutive month in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million/5.4 rating) and the 53rd in Tweens 9-14 (1.1 million/4.4 rating).

  • Boasting its best monthly deliveries in nearly 2 years in Total Viewers (3.0 million) and Kids 6-11 (1.3 million), July 09 qualified as Disney Channel’s 3rd most-watched month ever -- behind July 07 and August 07.
  • Disney Channel registered hefty double-digit percent increases over year-ago levels, up by 20% in Total Viewers (3.0 million vs. 2.5 million), by 18% in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million vs. 1.1 million) and by 24% in Tweens 9-14 (1.1 million vs. 888,000).

July 09 Program Highlights

  • The debut of cross-over special “Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana” (7/17/09, 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.) was TV’s No. 1 telecast for the month in Kids 6-11 (3.8 million/15.5 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (3.7 million/15.2 rating), and cable’s No. 1 telecast in Total Viewers (9.2 million).
  • Impressively, this is the 2nd straight month Disney Channel has aired the month’s No. 1 TV telecast in the target kid demos, and cable’s No. 1 telecast in Total Viewers.
  • Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana” was easily TV’s No. 1 telecast across all kid demos, including Girls 6-11 (2.5 million/20.7 rating), Boys 6-11 (1.3 million/10.6 rating), Girls 9-14 (2.4 million/20.0 rating) and Boys 9-14 (1.3 million/10.6 rating).
  • The one-hour all-new “Hannah Montana” episode on 7/5/09 (8:00 – 9:00 p.m.) ranked as TV’s No. 1 series telecast in Kids 6-11 (3.0 million/12.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (3.1 million/12.7 rating), and cable’s No. 1 series telecast in Total Viewers (8.0 million).
  • Fronted by “Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana” and the one-hour all-new “Hannah Montana,” Disney Channel delivered TV’s Top 3 telecasts in Kids 6-11 and the Top 4 in Tweens 9-14.
  • Along with high performing original and repeat airings of “Sonny with a Chance,” “JONAS” and “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Disney Channel held 16 of the month’s Top 20 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11, and 19 of the Top 20 in Tweens 9-14.
  • On an all play basis, Disney Channel delivered the month’s Top 10 TV series in both core Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 demos.  The Top 5:

  • In Tweens 9-14: “Sonny with a Chance” (No. 1 - 1.62 million/6.6 rating), “JONAS” (No. 2 – 1.36 million/5.6 rating), “Wizards of Waverly Place – Late Night” (No. 3 – 1.09 million/4.5 rating), “Hannah Montana” (No. 4 – 1.09 million/4.4 rating) and “Wizards of Waverly Place” (No. 4 – 1.06 million/4.3 rating).
  • Playhouse Disney series accounted for 4 of the month’s Top 10 TV series in Kids 2-5 with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (No. 3 - 583,000/3.6 rating), “Imagination Movers” (No. 6 – 540,000/3.3 rating) “Handy Manny” (No. 7 – 530,000/3.2 rating) and “Special Agent Oso” (No. 10 – 457,000/2.8 rating).
