MIAMI, FL, JULY 28, 2009 – Sunday’s highly anticipated broadcast of the CONCACAF Gold Cup final game Mexico vs. USA on Univision attracted 5.4 million Total Viewers 2+, making it the highest-rated Gold Cup match ever in the network’s history. In addition, the exciting tournament final, which gave Mexico a 5–0 win over USA, also delivered impressive audience levels in key markets, among them Los Angeles where KMEX Univision 34 attracted 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, regardless of language; an audience +47% greater than Sunday night’s combined primetime viewership of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, My Network TV and ION stations in that market.
